The Candy Lily flowers are small...I would say 1-2 inches across for the whole flower. It is in the front of the picture and it gets almost bushlike.
Yup, and the leaves are iris like in a fan.The Blackberries grow similarly. Theyre both in the family Iridaceae Blackberry Lily, aka Leopard Lily is Belamcanda chinensis Candy Lily is X Pardancanda norrisii
Seeing all those beautiful flowers has cheered me up no end! Summer creeps up so gradually that I tend to take the build up of colour for granted - until, suddenly, like an amazing sunset, it's gone. :'(
Wow Wrennie!!!!! Those are absolutely beautiful. Thank you from a color starved person right now,,lol. I haven't really gotten into flowers to much, just planted a few here an there, but now that i got the farm underway, an places where i can plant cleared out, (done this fall) I have an idea what i would like to plant. All these flower pics have helped me figure out what the names of everything is that i like, so Thank you for the help. I have to keep everything looking as natural as can be since this is a tourist camp, and farm, thats what they come to see is norways natural beauty.... so in a way i am also limited in the lower fields, but up here on top i can do as my little heart desires.......
Love the picture of bee balm. I just planted my first in fall 2007 and can't wait to see the results. I put it where the bees would not scare off visitors. Thanks for the pics.
