Gosh Jerry--I have seen a hotel like that in Waikiki...in fact, I stayed in it. I wonder if it is the same place.
We did Waikiki a couple of years ago, actually within walking distance. No, it's not Hawaii, Guess again. Another hint: Here is a landmark- Hint #1 ( photo / image / picture from Jerry Sullivan's Garden ) Jerry
Oh No!! Eliminate the beautiful South Pacific islands, the intriguing Indian ocean and all of the blue Mediterranean so early in the guessing process. :-( There are so many places to guess yet it would be a shame to exclude them all. How about another hint? Hmmmm. O.K. some where in the Caribbean…. but there are so many islands. Big hint: close up of the bridge seen in hint #1 bridge ( photo / image / picture from Jerry Sullivan's Garden ) Jerry
Congratulations Sjoerd, You have correctly identified St. Maarten. The flags lined the travel route from the airport for Her Majesty Queen Máxima when she arrived last week for a presentation. Needless to say the common traffic jams that are so popular in Philipsburg did not effect her travel route as men in blue kept the populous at bay. My activities that day were on the French side, no traffic problems. Jerry
I was just getting ready to ask about St Maarten when I saw Sjoerd's post. When you do a google search for Butterfly Farm, it's the first site that is listed.
Do I at least get runner-up prize since I did say "somewhere in the Caribbean"? And what happened to the butterfly farm pics?
Yes, you get the runner-up . Hmmmm… The butterfly pix are still there…. http://www.gardenstew.com/about32997.html For those wanting a challenging geo-quiz, the BBC has an excellent one in their travel section. http://www.bbc.com/travel/feature/20131 ... o-find-out Jerry P.S. next up ….. Glub, glub, glub.
Yea! I'm a winner (sort of)! I was thinking the butterfly farm was in this thread... that's what I get for 'Stewing while watching TV.
The flags gave it away, Jerry. I recognize them because Sint Maarten was once a dutch colony. I'll bet that you are having quite a nice time there.
