I would gladly give all my food and chickens to him if he came for a visit.... I don't think he would be looking for me. Thought, bet there wouldn't be a better place to hide out for a few years.
If they are looking that close to your house I would not be going outside any time after dark. He will be looking for easily obtainable food and what is easier that robbing eggs after dark or even taking a chicken? That's not even considering your vegetables that are still in the garden. Please be extremely careful and alert.
I get a weather report every evening. This evening I got a shelter alert. Anyone in the 2 townships north of me should stay in 8 pm to 8 am. This guy make it on the top 2 most wanted list today. They ask everyone not to travel through the 2 townships north of me for a while, if we could avoid it. I was going to take a Contorted Willow and a few other things to a lady's house but I think I will mail it to her. Just think, the poor mailman.....
I get a 511 alert via email anytime something special happens in my area. It also watches where I am. One time I was on Rt 80 coming from my sisters and there was flooding and horrible rain. I heard a terrible sound from my phone that I had never heard before and it warned me about it. That isn't even my home area but I knew where I was. I had to pull over....it was really bad. Anyway, it tells me when there is an accident on the highway or road lane closures from repairs. That's good for when my sister comes to visit or hubby comes home on that route. This one was different tonight.
How? Well, for starters the guy already needs to be borderline. No doubt plagued with fits of rage brought on by something like PTSD, or depression, or he/she may already be rebellious by nature (with a deep contempt for anyone symbolizing authority)... However even for such a mentally disastrous person, turning into a killer still isn't all that common. The missing ingredient here is the heavy handed approach by the authorities. So if the officer pulls me over and is rude (and that too for no fault of my own) - Is the moment that I will instantly start recording him (and thanks to modern technology there really will be no way for him to know that I'm recording) - Afterwards I will (with immense pleasure) report him to the higher authorities, as well as humiliate him over YouTube, for all to see... I have in my life already been the cause of one SSP's (senior superintendent of police) suspension and later transfer to another city, after demotion in rank! While another time I caused the dismissal of a traffic police's section in-charge too, who overstepped his authority! So yes, I too am very rebellious (since childhood), and I too have a deep contempt for the authorities - But only when they overstep their limits, and/or shamelessly ask for a bribe... So this is how I chose to fight them. Because of which I am very good friends with many good people in the uniform too, as they appreciate my efforts to weed out the corrupt officials. However, anyone who is not so skilled, and is already fighting other mental issues like PTSD or some other problem - Will very quickly get frustrated at the sight of the uniform (even when the officer is being very courteous). As in a crackpot's damaged mind, he or she will not see and judge the action of this individual officer at this particular time - But would judge him according to his or her own unpleasant past experiences... Be it a forceful and humiliating strip search he may have gone through at the airport on the grounds of only suspicion. Or some other equally traumatic event. So this is how weak and damaged minds go astray - And out of pure frustration and anger end up killing innocent officers... That anyway is the only explanation that I've got to share on this issue.
They may be getting closer. They have a house surrounded right now. This young man is on some of the same boards that I am a member of. He was in Iraq and very enthusiastic about protecting himself. Some people just take it too far and have way too much anger. PS We are having red bars flashing on our TV with the blasting sound for everyone to stay away from windows and doors in that immediate area.
This guy is still at large. It is one month now. They just announced that the search is moving just a little. Now it's about 12 miles from here. It is mostly heavy woods everywhere between there and here. Everyone in the search area are asked to stay in the house and not venture out into the woods. Of course, hunting is cancelled in those 7 townships. He made bombs and the police found them. They were ready to go. If they move the search right by our area I will be fine. I have food, gas, water and protection. I won't have to go out at all. They just have to let the hubby on the roads to go to work. Guess they let that happen. I am not sure. I know they search everything coming and going in that area, at the moment.
Just curious - Why aren't the authorities calling in the military to take this guy out? He has already hurt innocent people, so his intentions are now very clear for everyone to see. And it is also clear that the local authorities are unable to catch him on their own. So call in the military, and I'm sure they can easily find such a person in no time, (with their surveillance drones that can even sense infrared body emissions)... My concern is that the more time this person remains at large - The more media (for their own ratings) may later try to put a heroic spin on such a crackpot... So why let all this drag on and on? And why let all the good law abiding citizens suffer for no fault on their own? It is already very clear that not only is the guy crazy, but is armed and dangerous - So just call in the military and I'm sure they will take him out in a matter of hours! Just wondering...
S-H, I just don't think any of us realize just how densely wooded and how rough the terrain is there. It is miles and miles every direction of woods, hills, gullies, ravines, rivers, lakes, swamps, bogs, caves, dead and fallen trees, BEARS, etc. I think they are concerned about booby traps and have found several home made explosive devices. He is not just a "few bricks shy" of a whole load... he is missing the whole load, as we would put his mental capacity for "normal" thinking. He has been planning this for years is the word now. He has had a lot of time to dig trenches, find natural caves, stash caches of food, ammunition, clothes and/or survival equipment.
Exactly, all the more reason to not risk the lives of ordinary policemen - Who clearly are not trained to handle a situation like this. Which is why I'm wondering why hasn't anyone called in the military to handle this situation? Are they waiting for another tragedy??? In know that in USA people can dial 911 for such emergencies. In my country we dial 15 for emergencies. However, if the situation is too big, than any civilian can also contact the military directly on their hotline, which is 1101. So if this person is not just armed with weapons, but has also built bombs - Then where is the Homeland Security? Is this person not an enemy of the state for killing innocents? Also, what possible grievance can anyone have against the state and authorities, that will amount to stashing weapons and bombs too, and that also for years in advance? I really can't imagine how, therefore I'd say this person is clearly insane... Insane and dangerous, and so should be taken out as soon as possible, (before anyone else gets hurt). Since he has gone to the extreme of actually building bombs, means that he is prepared for a very bloody fight. And the years of planning only shows how determined he is. So I think it's high time the military be called in for support. As this person won't just go into the woods and hide, we will come out again, as he wants to become something like a heroic martyr... That anyway is my guess.
I don't know why either but they are not telling all on the news. They're actually very careful of what they say. They believe this guy has a radio and is listening to the news about him. He is playing with them. It's like a cat and mouse game. He really must be good for he is able to avoid the police for quite a while. Carolyn, You describe this area very well. Though it sounds like we live in an wild world we really don't. We have outlet centers and large "towns". We have vast areas of wild places that I would not want to be in, especially at night.
