Well C--First of all, I am so glad that none of you guys were injured. Such a shame that that tree blew down and took your fone line with it. Such a shame that those lines are above ground there. It sounded like folks around you really had it bad. Good to have you back.
Kay, Thanks, We weren't nearly as affected as the East coast or even up in the Cleveland area. But I have never heard such wind as that. I can't imagine being in the thick of the storm. Capt Kirk, You were very blessed to not have been in the high wind area. We didn't even have school on Tuesday due to the sheer wind speed. It was called off on Monday evening. Our High School is under construction (almost finished) except for the "community" section. In that section there is an opening waiting for doors and completion on the inside, there is a sheet of plastic that fits the opening, I am guessing here, that is about 30'wx50'h, that the wind literally shredded the plastic at the top on the one side from the constant blowing back and forth and the abrasion from the brick. it is a mess. I hope they can get it done soon. Sjoerd, I am glad it just the phone, although it was rather boring here without the internet. There was nothing to go do outside. But I am thankful that was the case and not the horrific destruction going on on the east coast.
I just saw that, it sounds like a nor'easter, which is about the worst to get and Tuesday is the day they are forecasting it for. What a bummer all the way around.
I'm glad we had the last of the trees that are old and leaning to power lines taken down .But feel for ones who don't have $$$ for generator. And worse yet gas leaks. And no sump-pumps.
I think that new storm is for sure going to hit us. What a mess the coast and ny are going to be after that. my...my...
