Swarm of bees and one fat lip

    AA, bees and wasps are two totally different insects. Bees are not aggressive unless you are disturbing their hive with fast or jerky movements. wasps can be aggressive anytime, but generally aren't unless you are disturbing their nest. Sorry to hear you have had such troubles with the stings and meds. That would be scary!

    S, Velcro-ie is the easiest way to determine if a colony is queen-right. If they hook their legs together then there is a queen.

    I was a little worried they would leave by the time I got back, too. I got there a little after noon and thought it would be prime leaving time anytime soon since they had been there for a full day already.

    Next time just cut the branch off the tree and carry it home. Now wouldn't that be a sight to see?
