You guys won't believe this! It has nothing to with math, but everything to do with what's wrong in the educational world. Not ten minutes after I caught up on this thread, we changed classes. The adults have to monitor thr classroom AND the hallway. Well, I looked into the room to tell the kids to have a seat and get quiet. I kid you not: I actually had to tell a boy to stop humping the desk!! I mean, he was standing there, going at it like an excited dog. It took a second for my brain to register what it was seeing, but he really was molesting the desk! I'd hate to see what he does with a calculator.
