:'( That is sad news. It hurts my heart when tiny animals can't make it. Sorry. Surely, there will be plenty more healthy lambs coming along.

So sorry Frank. Do you know why? Was it born to early or rejected.

Hi Donna, we think it may have been a virus.

On a lighter note here is what the sheep 'maternity ward' looks like :) If you look closely you will see numbers sprayed onto the sheep's wool. This is the number of lambs that showed up on scanning equipment, so we expect that many lambs. If you look even closer you will see a red lamp in the background which is a heating lamp for poorly lambs and their moms.

Frank, having lost hens, I can feel your disappointment in losing a lamb (although our ladies were elderly and we expected to lose a few eventually).
I love the maternity ward! My husband is going to block any future posts about your lambs and ewes--he thinks I'm getting entirely too wrapped up in the whole idea of having sheep. A lamb in the kitchen could keep me company while I'm baking, and I'm sure it wouldn't mind cuddling a bit on my lap.
Here's hoping all the lambs do well!
