With all of the going to and from College Station in the last week I haven't done much about Christmas. Today the boy (age 11) came over from next door and we made cookies. He talked and talked and worked rather slowly but I made cookies and helped him finish his. The sugar cookie dough was too soft so we put it in the refrigerator to chill and with his mother's permission we went into town and had a hamburger, fries and a drink for lunch. dr paid, of course. Then, since the sugar cookie dough was still not rolling well we were going to play scrabble but instead started making a bear for his Grandma for Christmas. It has to be delivered on Christmas day so we have to work fast. I'll finish sewing it tonight and tomorrow we will stuff it and put it together. Then, we can finish those sugar cookies. dooley
This Christmas will be my first to be at home in 6 years, all my family live abroad, and i tend to travel quite a lot,so it will be just me the two dogs and six cats, should be interesting!,i can fall asleep after eating my Christmas dinner, this time it will be a comfortable snooze, .
We're nearly there now. All pressies are ready, food's under control, the tree's up and all we need to do is a bit of cleaning, some table cloth changing and we're good to go. We celebrate on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day is for relaxing and stuffing our faces even more. Here's the tree: I'll be kept rather busy for the next couple of days, so I'll see you when I see you. God jul to you all.
Lovely tree Droopy. Well, mum arrived this evening for the holidays, with gifts and goodies galour. The table is looking full of food and very festive. The cake is made and the ham is sitting in the fridge. On Friday we will do the 7 bird roast...I keep finding more birds in the freezer so it is getting bigger and bigger! Mark finishes work at lunch time on Christmas eve, then in the evening we make a flask of hot chocolate, and all climb into the car for a drive around the local villages to see the lights all twinkling. It's nearly here folks! Happy Christmas
Yesterday I finished those cookies that wouldn't roll and cut nicely on Wednesday and made the stollens. This morning I glazed the stollen and added the candied cherries on the top. Then, dr and I filled the baskets with cookies and we delivered them to the neighbors along with the stollen. We did keep one stollen for ourselves as this is our traditional Christmas breakfast. I think we will add oatmeal to it this year. So, we are ready for Christmas. A friendly neighbor is delivering our dinner tonight as we didn't want to go out anymore today. It's raining and cold. No snow though, just rain and wind. It's dark enough to be late evening, not afternoon. Have a Merry Christmas everyone! dooley
I got a lovely surprise this evening. My youngest son is going to be for Christmas after all!! It's going to be lovely having all three children with us to celebrate tomorrow. I just hope I can sleep tonight or I'll be nodding off as I watch them all having fun opening their presents.

I want to wish a very Merry Christmas to all our amazing Stew members! At the moment I am in a very hot, non-Christmas celebrating country, so it's really hard to believe that it has arrived. However signing on here is a great reminder. Enjoy the festive day!
