Here are some that ladies used before divorce became easier. Mind you, some were caught out. Three very poisonous ones today Amanita muscaria, Fly Agaric. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) Amanita aprica, Sunshine Amanita. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) Amanita pantherina, Panther Cap. My children used to love seeing the Fly Agarics around here. They were sternly warned though never to touch them.
Yes, these are the ones that want to be left alone. The white ones are the most dangerous ones. This is one of them, Amanita smithiana. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
Today we have a coral mushroom, Sparassis crispa, Cauliflower Fungus. This can get quite large and although I don't eat any mushrooms other than the stores, you can eat this one, don't mix it with the last 4 though. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
I'm enjoying seeing all these different fungi but still wouldn't trust myself to go out picking them to eat.
We have a bright fungus this time. It is called Tremella foliacea. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
This is another strange shape, Helvella crispa, White Helvella. Not common and around here grows alone as I have never seen two together. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
Another coral mushroom today, Hericium abietis. Can grow very big on dead trees. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
These are all very lovely. So are all of these you are showing us mushrooms? You call one a fungus and not a mushroom. Is a mushroom a fungus and a fungus a mushroom??? Are they one in the same?
