Often times they do not bloom the first season, however they very often do for me for some reason. Perhaps it depends upon the exact sort. As I recall there are some that bloom the first year, and some that bloom the second year.
I suspect that if you bought a plant from a store this year that it has been gotten ready to bloom for this year. I reckon it's just a question of watering and waiting.
BTW--is it in a pot or in the ground?

Well then...my feeling is that it will go ahead and bloom once in the ground.
Good luck with that baby. What colour is it, BTW?

I am so anxious to see it, Petunia. I haven't seen many Delphs that I haven't liked, but sky-blue is my fav.

All I can say is WOW Sjoerd, I wish I had a 'dip' like that. The blow-in poppies are glorious, I should be so lucky :D I love the colour of the lychnis, there is nothing else quite like it. Your verbascum are very advanced, mine are only in leaf at the moment and your clematis viticella is just beautiful. I am not familiar with the Monarda, what an amazing, unusual flower and your splish-splash geranium is lovely.........oh heck I love them all :D
