I wish I was an expert on anything - let alone Geraniums. Tried and tried to get the cuttings root, but haven't been successful so far :(

    LOL, Tina, me too.
But I'll give it a shot taking cuttings. In my NON-EXPERT opinion, my plant needs to get a little stronger before I take a cutting that would take. It looks... like it's had a long winter. Maybe I should have cut it back before winter so it wouldn't have had to work so hard. What do you think?

LOL Daisybeans. You are asking my opinion, so be careful :)
I am taking cuttings from this plant since last November. So far 5 failed attempts. One last one is still standing - will know if it has rooted in a few more weeks. Will stop torturing the plant for now and start again next fall :)
In the meanwhile, I went and bought a white geranium plant from the nursery. At least I know I can make it live through the winter.

Collect geranium seeds online.. I have to go see if I have any left..

I have some started from seed.. Also will go see if there are old babies around..

    Mine aren't all successful.

Funny, Tina. It's all an experiment for me, to be honest. It finally occured to me to write stuff down when I try it so that I'll actually KNOW what worked and (mostly) didn't work.

I'm going to take your approach B, and when it looks more robust, I'll "stick some in soil and see what happens." I like that. :stew2:

There should be alot of geraniums in the garden centers now, even grocery stores, Walmart... anywhere. Good luck finding the prettiest one -- how will you ever choose?

I have good success with rootings by putting the cut end in water until they root then plant in some potting soil.

I do this even in the winter, even with my coleus and have good luck making new plants. I do it with the geraniums, coleus, african violets, polka dot plant, ivys, spider plants, caladiums also.
