I'm slow getting to things these days. It's been raining so much here most of my stuff has perished. No mstter how the drainage is in my tubs the ground stays too wet. Next year the garden goes in the ground. We have some moles around but mostly the dogs or cats keep them in control, I think. I noticed in Bob's yard the trails have holes in them. It's not pleasant to destroy life but it isn't pleasant to have to suffer an injury like that either. I hope your garden doesn't suffer too much from the caterpillars. dooley

Thanks Dooley--It sounds like your water situation is the exact opposite of mine. I could sure do with a bit of your rain.

The tomato leaves are dark green but when they yellow, they yellow and then turn brown from the outer edge in toward the center. Or they had sort of a bluish tinger from the outer edge in. I should have taken a pic before I trimmed them.

I didn't water at all since Monday and the tops of the toms look good, perkier, with new flowers. No fruit yet despite having had many flowers.

The beans.... hmmm. That's a bad scene. So now we know -- beans in a bag, not so good. They are pale green all over. The newer leaves are green but get yellow as they get larger. What do you make of that?

Yes, pity that you didn't take pics of those leaves before removing them. it does sound like they are doing a bit better though.
You may want to try tapping or shaking the tom plants before 10:00 a.m. This will make the flower's pollen fly aroud and hopefully fertilize eachother. Fingers crossed for you.

I'm not sure what to think about the beans. Perhaps the medium is simply too rich for them; or, they are too moist. It is really difficult to get an idea from here.

I am hoping that your beans willeventually do well. Are they climners or low-bushy types?

BTW-- are your Runners looking goog enough to take piccies of yet?
