Good afternoon all. Raining here so I don't have to drag out the hoses tonight. Wed out the strawberry garden last evening so now they have a better chance to soak up some of the water that they very much needed. Garden has picked up and looking better after the hurricane blew much of it apart. Makes me smile! Have a great day everyone.

Good Friday morning all. CUrrently 11°C and overcast, making it very dark this morning. Off to work (TGIF!) where it will be a very busy day indeed. Wedding tomorrow and close to full house, things need to look good! Have a great day all :)

Happy Friday morning and yes TGIF!
My weekend will be dedicated to weeding, watering and whining about the heat! :D

I've been out and refilled the hummingbird feeders. I bring them inside and wash them out and mix the sugar solution and refill them and hang them back out. They follow me from the doors to the hangers and almost are eating before I get them hung up. There are not too many flowers at this time of the year in Texas. Mostly I have sunflowers and they are about gone. Birds have been helping themselves. No rain here but the grass is too wet with dew to go cut it this morning. It would just clog up everything and I'd be stopping every five minutes to unclog the blades.
    Maybe some sewing now.

Good morning all. Still have only had 2 100+ degree days this summer. Getting back to nearly the way it used to be, maybe even a chance of those two days being the only ones this summer. But then I remember that we still have AUGUST to live through and that hope goes flying right out the window.

I have a batch of mosquito repellant steeping in the pantry, trying a new recipe. In a week or so we will be giving it a try and I'll post the recipe if it works for us.

Good Saturday morning all. CUrrently 16°C and overcast. I do hope we get some rain today! I have been picking beans, and picking beans, and picking more beans so it is time to start freezing them. I have to clean out the freezer first to see if there are any left from last year. I hate how every job around here demands another job be done first! After I tend to the beans and freezer, I am going to give the dog a good brushing. She is leaving clumps of hair all over the house! Have a great day all :)

Good morning! Going to be a very nice day. Was out for my early morning garden walk. Things are looking good. The peas have pods now. Can't wait for them to start filling out. We already have had some new potatoes! Enjoy your day, everyone.

Neighborhood garden walk and garage sale. Getting ready to stroll the neighborhood. Supposed to get up to 80F today. Still in the low 50s at night. Hubby will man the back yard for visitors. I look forward to seeing the gardens and sales :-D

Happy Saturday night. I was up bright and early and got the mowing done. Then noticed that I've been invaded by worms in the pecan trees! One tree is has been stripped totally of it's leaves. Others had worms all over them. So... off to town to buy some spray. Hopefully I got them in time before they devoured any of the other trees. That took up the rest of my day so I didn't get to the watering or weeding. So tomorrow I'm hoping to get to those weeds... the beds really need some TLC.

Good Sunday morning all. CUrrently 17°C and cloudy. We had a good rain last night, and for that I am so thankful. I picked more beans and peas yesterday, and then blanched and froze them. I have my eye on the first 3 'Beef Master' tomatoes that should be ready to pick any day now. Noticed some weeds in the back beds and ended up filled 4 wheel barrow's with weeds, cut offs, and deadheads! I have a couple of gardens to go, but at least I won't have to water anything today! But first, I am going to go get another coffee! Have a great day all :)

Happy Sunday morning. This is supposed to be the hottest day of the year so far, so I'm trying to get in gear to get out there and tackle those weeds. I'll be wherever the shade will be.
Water hoses will be going at the same time.

Good afternoon all. Went to breakfast and stopped at an Estate Sale on the way home, Randy found some goodies but I have enough dishes and that seemed to be mostly what they had left and some really expensive furniture.

Temp was 102 yesterday with a feels like temp of 106....today is supposed to be a repeat. Thursday, on the other hand, is to be only in the low 80's...come on Thursday!

Good Monday morning all. Currently 13°C and raining. Some violent storms missed my neighborhood, but hit further south and south west of me, possible tornado's. I'm not happy being up for work already - Monday's are always so hard! I guess I'd better get going, have a great day all :)

Good morning all. It is 15C here this morning. Have bread on the rise, cakes in the oven and cookies on the go. Rain and foggy so it's a good day to get some baking in the freezer. Have a wonderful day!

Happy Monday morning. Upper 70s to upper 90s today. Cool front and rain in the forecast for tomorrow. I'll take either one... rain or cool... both would be nice though!
