The Good Day All Thread

Good morning all. We have had very little rain lately. I have had to water a few newly planted items on the crest of the hills. I think our mulch is deep enough to keep most plants well for quite a while. The front gardens mulch is 6 inches now. I actually dig into it to see that it is moist where the original surface was. The back gardens are still very new and very dry. The weather man says we will get rain Tuesday to Wednesday. I will be happy is that happened.

Otherwise we have had perfect weather for a month.

I did manage to get the stuff in the front watered yesterday and noticed how bad my beds are looking. Yikes... I need to do some serious cleaning up. Amazing how fast they can get away from you.

 

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 11°C and sunny. The ground has been very 'dewy' this year, and this morning is no exception. My feet were soaked and cold after my dog walk this morning! The gardens are going to have to live with only the dew today as we have an all day soccer event. I'll water them tomorrow. Have a great day all

 

Good morning everyone. We have had many beautiful days in a row. Today they added a gentle breeze to the pot.

Not much planned today. Hubby took a rabbit out for dinner this evening. He wants it curried.

 

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 18°C and sunny. It was a busy day at soccer yesterday and I was worn out so I slept in today!! Not much planned for the day, just some laundry and cleanup then out to water the gardens. Have a great day all

 

Just getting ready to clean church. Do not think will be open much longer. Young members not coming. But old time country church. No running water.I haul it for coffee. Bathroom-electric burning-yuk.

 

Good Monday morning all. Currently 18°C and cloudy. I have the day off today, and will be taking my son to register at college. Then we will be going out and doing some back to school shopping for both kids. Only a few weeks until they are back to school! Have a great day all

 

Happy Monday morning. And back to work after a very productive weekend around the house. I purposely stayed off the computer so I could get an early start to beat the heat. On Saturday, I got all the mowing, weed eating, edging done. Cleaned and filled bird feeders and baths. Armadillo is back, so I spread out more blood meal which seemed to work last time.
On Sunday, I pulled weeds, deadheaded, tossed out the dead and dying. Fertilized. Watered and watered some more. Had to clean out the pump for the bird bath fountain. Finally, the place looks decent after a couple of weeks of neglect. Heck, I even managed to get some housework done and cleaned the aquarium.

 

It's just hot and humid here. Nothing is getting done outside but feeding and watering birds. Cheryl, do you want to come and do my yard work. I've been trying to get out early to weed eat and cut grass and weeds. I don't want to start too early because the neighbor has young children.She would like them to sleep a little later than my early noise would allow.

Good evening. Toni, we've had lots of thunder but not much rain so far. It's just dripping out there but it has cooled off. I shut off my a/c and opened the door and put my fan in front of it. My thermometer says it's only in the 70's so it has cooled off here. It was in the 90's when we went to lunch about 1 pm.
Hope it stays cool. The thunder has quit but I expect it'll be back. It says 80 percent chance of rain this evening.

Good morning everyone. Going to be a very nice day here. We do need rain though for the gardens. Went to water the strawberry garden and the deep well pump gave out. It is at my F.I.L's place(no one lives there now.) So, needless to say that puts an end to watering gardens. We watered all our gardens from that well. I live next door but our well doesn't produce enough water for our house and gardens. It's up to mother nature to do the watering from now on. Hydro company is having a planned power outage for the afternoon so I better get some work done.

Happy Tuesday morning. I got about 1/2 inch of rain last night...after I watered of course.
The power went out around 7pm and came back on around 11:30pm. There was an AMAZING lightning show to my south... I sat on the front porch and watched it for a couple of hours.
Today will be "normal" with temps in the mid 90s, high humidity, and a slight chance of one of those afternoon pop-up rain showers.

 

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 15°C and dark. I had most of the day off yesterday due to the rain (which hardly turned into anything) but I got lots done at home. It's already Wednesday! Have a great day all!
