Frank, very glad to hear the wedding was great. I know your Mom is loving having a house full of family but will also be happy to have the house empty again.

Good morning all. Rainy weekend is over 100+ coming back for the week and only 36 days until the beginning of Autumn....but probably 2+ months until it actually feels like Autumn here.
Nope I don't share any rain, I get so little of it I am greedy. We haven't had this much rain since early May. We are still about 10 inches behind on yearly rainfall but since it was fast and heavy, there should have been a good amount of runoff into the lakes so maybe watering restrictions can ease up for a few weeks.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 9°C and dark. Another busy day ... seems this cold, damp weather has started a fungal infection on some plants. Spraying the beds today to try to prevent the spread. Have a great day all :)

Happy Tuesday morning. got a little rain here at the office yesterday, but nothing at home. We've had a pretty wet year so far, but now it's dry dry dry. Brown grass patches. I could have skipped mowing entirely last weekend because the grass just ain't growing much.
And one of my Luna Hibiscus doesn't seem to like the heat... it's just melting away a little each day.
I have noticed that it's a little darker in the mornings when I get up. Guess it won't be long now before days begin to get shorter and I'll start complaining about not having enough daylight. :stew2:

Good morning all. First of a string of 4-6 100+ days in the making. The ground is still a little damp but after a couple more days you won't be able to tell we ever had 2.75 inches of rain over the weekend.

Even though the days have been getting shorter since the Solstice on June 21st, it's just such a small, slow change it's something you don't pay regular attention to. The days get shorter but the heat gets stronger down here ....go figure.

I really look forward to the Autumnal Equinox each year.
On Sept 23rd (this year) day and night will be approximately the same length, then the nights will start becoming longer than the days. That's one reason why Autumnal Equinox to Winter Solstice is my favorite time of the year.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 15°C and dark. I have been noticing the shortening days for a few weeks now ... my shift has been 6-2:30 since June. Now it is dark when I drive in to work and dark so much earlier in the evening. We are expecting rain today, hope it holds off until later. Have a great day all :)

Happy Wednesday morning. Again... got a little rain here at the office. Just about 1/8th of an inch at home. 30 minutes east of me.... street flooding with 3-4 inches! Drats... missed out again! But it was overcast and just 80F when I got home. So out came the sprinklers. After a couple of hours, I checked to see how wet it was.... barely made it through the mulch! So I let them go another couple of hours. Bet those plants are doing a happy dance today! There's a 40% chance of rain today... maybe it'll go to my house. If not, time to move the sprinklers and continue spreading joy. :stew2:

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 18°C and dark. Weatherman says we will get a good HOT day today ... hopefully some of my veggie plants will perk up! My eye is bloodshot today, not sure why. It sure hurt to drive in the dark last night! Off to work, have a great day all :)

Happy Thursday morning. Well it happened again. Rain all around me, and just a drop or two at the house. I guess I'll get my turn one of these days. The good news is that I won't have to do much mowing this weekend. ;)

Right now watching hummers. Not fighting this year.3-4 at a feeder may times..Put bags of top soil around new bed room. Got few Hostas out of containers. Then got rain-we could use good soaking. Did not think I would say that -after flash flood.

Cheryl, welcome to my year so far. Other than the rain last weekend the last 8 months have been that way in my garden.

Good morning all. Humidity is creeping up higher and higher and adding 5-10 degrees to the feels like temperature as it goes. I am through dragging hoses, the plants that make it to the end of August will find their numbers increased next year and the ones that don't will get a burial in the compost barrel and will top my 'do not buy again' list.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 21°C and overcast. There is a bit of fog rolling in as well. Very tired this morning ... was up and 4:30am yesterday and went to bed at 1:30am after picking my son up at work. I only had a 30 minute nap between that and was up at 7:30 this morning. That is NOT enough sleep for this active Mom! A busy day ahead getting back to school supplies and housework done today. I will sleep good tonight! Have a great day all :)

    Happy Saturday afternoon.
Went to a new trade show/swap meet in town this morning. They will be having it every 3rd weekend. Not too big yet, but a few people were out selling their wares. My main purpose was to gather business cards from the vendors so I can ask them to come out to the church's events... and I did come home with a new bird feeder and two pieces of "junk" for the yard. :stew2:
Too hot to be outside right now, so I guess I'll do some house cleaning. I'll have to get out there soon with the water hoses and put them on "drip". It's so dry here... don't need to mow at all this weekend.

    Good afternoon all.
Checked out a local farmers market this morning, it's been turned into more of a craft fair than a farmers market. Very few actual produce venders, more homemade bread, noodles, soap, pies, etc type of place. I need to send the city a complaint email.

Found a local Ruibals market (aka Rosemeade Market) and shopped there instead. Then to Potbelly for lunch. It's pretty close to 100 for the 15th day this summer so we will not be leaving the house again until breakfast tomorrow morning.

Now I have to get Sweet Pickles started and tomorrow I will get the green beans in the freezer.
