Good Sunday morning all. Currently 17°C and sunny. Up bright and early today, already have 2 loads out on the clothes line, the dog has been walked and now my coffee break. Going to make some refrigerator pickles this morning, and can some more tomatoes. Lots to do today, because its back to work tomorrow! Have a great day all :)

Happy Sunday morning. Having a hard time getting going this morning.Do I just lay around all day being lazy in front of the TV or play on the computer? Or do I just take this opportunity and do some housecleaning? Nah...I could start the watering rotation again. And there's always some weeding that needs done. I do want to get the bird baths cleaned. When the heat gets too bad, that's when I'll come back inside for a bit.... that is if I get off here and actually make it outside

There sure are some energetic people here. I didn't go outside today. I did get a few things done inside but it's my time now until it's time to do supper.

Toni, If you have a "producers market", not a "purveyors market", it is much harder to find actual produce vendors to participate. No one wants to work that hard or at least not many people do. I happen to be the anchor vendor for 3 markets and I hear that very same "complaint" at every one of my markets. "where are the other produce vendors?" is the frequent question/complaint. We don't have enough people who want to grow produce and work this hard to make a dollar. If they are only doing one market a week and not doing this all week long or they have no other place to sell their produce during the week because maybe they have another full time job, the markets find it very hard to get vendors to participate. It is kind of a catch 22... I couldn't do what I do without my husband helping as much as he does and I along with most other vendors don't have a cooler to store the produce in. it is pick and sell, pick and sell.

Good Monday morning all. Currently 12°C and dark. The dog is going to have to wait until after work for her walk, it is just too dark outside! It's going to be a hot one today, so I think it's a hose dragging kind of day. Have a great day all :)

Wow, Girls. I never thought about this.

We have no real farmers markets around here. We do have one market thing where the local farmers bring their foods and baked things but there are only 4 or 6 vendors. The Amish drive one and half hours to have a market on a piece of land along a highway near here. I think they fill in with many other peoples produces. So it's a collective thing. They don't just have their product on the tables.

Today we will go to a flee market. It's a long drive so on the way home we will hit more garden centers. That would be right up Toni's alley.

The weather will be wonderful for our trip.

Happy Monday morning. First day of school... I expected to get stuck behind the school buses and be in heavy traffic... neither happened. Sweet!
Even sweeter... out of nowhere yesterday evening, a showering brought me 1/8th inch of rain. This is of course after I had the hoses on all day. But no complaints about the timing and the amount.. ANY precipitation is truly appreciated. I think I actually heard my grass go "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh". :stew2:

No rain here again today! Still 98 and humid. I don't think I went outside today. Oh, yes I did. I refilled my two hummingbird feeders and dumped the fruit peels over the fence for the chickens. I made breakfast and washed up the dishes and made bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches for lunch. The heat gets me down so I'm in here with the a/c going. I cut out some aprons for my niece who lives in Arizona. I'll get them sewed sometime this week and get them mailed whenever. She isn't in a hurry for them. School started here today so no kids up the hill that were playing outside. Neighbor was playing with his big tractor clearing some brush for a new pasture. I haven't decided what they will put in it. I didn't ask. I'll find out one of these days. He'll have to fence it and he does this on his days off from his truck driving job.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 15°C and dark. I can hear the crickets chirping ... I love that sound! It's gonna be a hot one today, feeling like 40°C (104°F), it's the first hot one of the summer! Temperature dropping 20 degrees tomorrow so I'm going to enjoy the heat today! Have a great day everyone!

Happy Tuesday morning... happy indeed! Got just under one inch of rain yesterday! :stew2: And more in the forecast for the rest of the week. Rain barrels are full, so I'll be using that to water the containers the next day or two. So... Maybe the water hoses can take a little vacation? :D

No rain here but it says rain this afternoon, sunny tomorrow and rain on Thursday. How come Cheryl gets to have all the rain? But, we like the sunny day for our anniversary. Let it rain tomorrow instead of today. We are having lunch and supper in town. I did make breakfast and do the dishes. Brian says no more work today!

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 14°C and dark. It got hot yesterday, but the thunderstorms didn't happen. And not as cool as they predicted today either, so I am in for another hot one. I guess another day dragging hoses. Have a great day all :)

Happy Wednesday morning. I only had to water a couple containers yesterday, but I'm sure I need to get the hoses out again this evening, unless I'm one of the lucky one's that get some rain from this 50% chance.
Had to replace the pump in my bird bath fountain. And noticed the stand is rusting away. Time to go shopping for a new one... oh well... it lasted about 3 years... same as the pump!

Good morning,it looks like it is going to be a beautiful day. It's 47 degrees and is suppose to get up in the mid-seventies. A lot nicer than all the rain we've been getting. We traded our old camper in for a newer one yesterday so I need to put the camping things in the new one then it's on to pulling weeds and doing some dead-heading.

Good morning all. 2ofus, what I wouldn't give for mid-seventies as a high temp, we are looking at mid-upper 90's well into next month....and very little, if any, rain.

I am so tired of hot, dry weather, my plants are beginning to pack up and move on to better places and from the look of them they figure even dead is better than here.
