Good morning all. 28 deg this morning but warming up a bit before another front moves through Wed afternoon. Might even get some cardboard and mulch laid in the backyard... it is such a mess out there that's the only way to control the weeds anymore.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -12°C felling like -20°C, with overcast skies. This is the coldest morning so far this winter. Had a good drive yesterday, but was happy just to be home again - was exhausted from 3 days of driving. Enjoying a huge mug of coffee deciding my day. Have a great day all :)

Netty, I'm so glad the drive yesterday wasn't as bad as expected. What is it about being in a car for any length of time that tires a person out?
Today is the last day before another cold front, so I'm cutting back perennials and pulling turnips. If my enthusiasm lasts I'll cut some lettuce, too.

Happy Tuesday morning. Had a good frost this morning, had to scrape the windshield. But it's sunny and temps should get up close to 60F. But hold on... the arctic blast will start to creep in bringing lows in the mid20s by Wednesday morning.
Just have to pull the cover over the calla lilies to help keep them from getting frostbite... and plug in the lights at night to the winterhouse.

Good morning! Sunny here but only 30 degrees at 10 am. Definitely winter weather for here. No snow though which is fine with me. Hot tea and oatmeal for breakfast! I'm off to tackle the dishes. I cleaned cupboards yesterday so the kitchen needs help this morning!

Good afternoon all. It finally reached the 50 deg mark here, second time this year so far. Still a little too breezy to stay outside for very long but I did wander around out back and now have way too many ideas for changes to make this Spring. I have got to hire a minion.

Two lady cats of have found Spooky to be quite a handsome fellow sitting in the side window and are quite noisy about their admiration. Time to find out from the Vet how much Benadryl to give him for his trip to be fixed.

Good afternoon all! What terrible weather we have today. Strong winds and blustery, squally showers. And to add insult to injury I have been struck down by the flu virus that's going around these parts so not going to be able to get much done today :( My brother and I were collecting timber in cold, wet weather yesterday so that's probably the cause.

Hope your day turns out better!

The virus was probably sitting on a log taking a rest when you came along. Bad timing :-( , get well soon.

Happy Wednesday morning. Don't think it reach freezing this morning, there was no frost. Everything's tucked away for the big freeze coming overnight. We'll be in the mid-to-lower 20s for several hours.
It'll be near freezing when I get home this evening... and lots of wind.
Brrrr.... maybe I'll just stay tucked in bed for a couple of days? :stew2:

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -21°C with wind gusts and feeling like -34°C with the windchill. This is the coldest day so far this year, with Environment Canada issuing a severe cold warning. These are issued when temperatures or windchills create an elevated risk to health. To top it all off our hydro went out during the peak of the squalls this morning at 6:17 and was out until almost 11am. Thank goodness we already had the woodstove going and I was able to make myself a coffee (haha...priorities!) and keep the house warmish. 2 more days of arctic air on the way. I keep reminding myself it's only 72 days until spring! Have a great day all :)

Good cold morning all. 35 degF/2 deg C this morning with a strong north wind making the wind chill of 29 deg/-2 C
Just went out to refill bird feeders and it felt great!!!

I am cooking a turkey for the lady next door. She got it from work for Christmas but has never cooked one so I told her I would cook it and bag it in small portions for her to keep in the freezer. She is a single gal so this turkey is going to take her all year to eat!!

Good afternoon! It's sunny but very windy. Temp was 54 degree around 2 pm. Lots of birds around our feeders. I was going to put up another feeder in the back but there is a cat that hangs around out there. I think it gets into the front yard at times because I've noticed red feathers on the ground a couple of times.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -12°C and overcast with strong west winds. The temperature has warmed up 14 degrees since yesterday, and so I will be heading out for some groceries. Have a great day all :)

Happy Thursday morning. Overnight temps were in the mid20s and our high should only be in the mid to upper 30s today. But there's nothing but sunshine out there now. And thankfully the winds have stopped.
Surprisingly there wasn't any frost on the windshield this morning, but the water buckets were frozen just a bit.
I'll check the plants when I get home, but I feel confident that I protected them as best I could.
We'll be flirting with freezing temps over the next few days. I guess it's okay. Need the chill hours for the fruit trees. And hopefully it'll kill off nasty insects and some weeds too. The clover around here has been going nuts!

Good morning all! Ok this is the worst day of the new year so far. You could go outside the door for 10 seconds and you would be completely soaked. The birds are nowhere to be seen. Just grim out there :( Bring on spring.

Have a top Friday ahead all!
