Good Monday evening! It was a cloudy day here in Wisconsin. The weather report called for rain/snow but it all went well north of us. It was in the upper 30's when we went out and rode the bus around. We go ride the various buses to see where they go. They mostly all do a circuit that includes the downtown transit station so we can ride around and then transfer back to the bus that brings us home. We rode bus # seven today. It isn't supposed to go downtown. But, it's springbreak and it didn't have to haul kids around on a schedule to the driver decided to detour through downtown. We did not go to Blimpies for a sandwich for lunch today. We did that two days last week. We came home and stopped at the convenience store for a paper and bought a sandwich and came home and ate it. I watched a little tv while I was eating my sandwich but had to finish the sandwich after my nap in the chair. The tv was still on when I woke up. I don't think I missed much. Oh, well! We haven't had tv in years but it came with the internet service and our son loaned us a small tv. I know why we didn't have one for so long. Not much of anything interesting on it. I suppose I could have watched the Badger game on it tonight. That's a big deal here in Wisconsin. I hope they win, just because this is the badger state.
Need to do some sewing tomorrow. I want to make some more reusable shopping bags. I was going to do it today but we spent too much time riding the bus. I think we need to go get Wisconsin state ID cards tomorrow. Maybe Wendy is coming to take us to the DMV. I should have gotten my haircut first so people would recognize me. Well, you all have a good evening now or a good night since the evening is about gone.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 2°C and overcast. A busy day ahead, of cleaning and laundry, and hoping to get a bit of work done outside too. I was out chasing the Kildeer out of my garden ... I do NOT want them building a nest in there! Off to start my day, have a great day everyone :)

Netty, my Kildeer is back at her favorite spot, the middle of the driveway! And someone built a nest in one of my hanging plants. Why don't they just take up residence in one of the empty birdhouses? :)

Looks like another nice day here, some clouds but no rain and temps in the low 80s.

Cheryl, depending on the bird you might never get it to nest in a birdhouse. Hope the plant is a sturdy one.

Good morning all. The de-construction of our street is in full swing....at least the west side. They will get that side rebuilt and then start on our side. The rain we had over the weekend is keeping the concrete dust down when they slice the old concrete but it is also delaying the pouring of concrete on the part they got ready last week. Ahhhh, one of the big dump trucks is back so the large back hoe type machine is picking up and dropping slabs of concrete into it. Very loud and they aren't even directly in front of our house yet.

The ground is still soggy and I have no interest in washing mud off my shoes before I come inside everytime so I think I will get some pots ready for butterfly and caterpillar plants.

Cheryl, killdeer are ground nesters, so get used to having nests in your flower beds!
I hilled up the potatoes and planted the last of the tomatoes today.
The croton are in the big pots in the front bed, and I'm trying to figure out what to do with the excess Mexican tarragon. I didn't think all those seeds would germinate, but I was wrong:oops:. Ah, well, Mother Nature giveth and taketh away. I'll try to convince neighbors that they can't live without Mexican tarragon!

We now have paper ID's for Wisconsin. Mine is a driver's license since that's the kind I had in Texas. dr has a picture ID since he doesn't drive anymore. Permanent ones will arrive in the mail in about 10 days. So one more thing done. We got registered at the local bank here and will be getting new debit cards in a week to 10 days. Seems everything takes a week to 10 days. Well, we aren't planning on going anywhere before then so it's okay with us. No rain or snow here today. Hope it stays north of us. May go do some stuff tomorrow. Will go shopping on Thursday with Wendy. She has the day off and is going to do her shopping at that time. Guess nothing else is new. Have a good evening.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 2°C and overcast with strong south east winds. It is odd to have the wind blowing this direction, and it usually brings 3 days of lousy weather. It looks like I won't be working out in the gardens today as there is a freezing rain warning out. Not sure exactly what I will be up to today ... I will have a coffee and decide. Have a great day all :)

Happy Wednesday morning. Temps will be in the mid 80s today and rain chances increasing. Looks like it will be another rainy weekend too. Crap! I'm never gonna get that blackberry area cleaned out at this rate. Just as it dries up enough to get out there, here comes the rain again. At least I was able to mow around it. I think my cousin will be able to mow the pasture today too. He plowed up the garden area yesterday. Now that he's retired, I guess he'll be planting stuff here and at his house. As long as I can reap the benefits, doesn't bother me a bit! ;)

Good morning all. Another day of rumbles, roars, beeping and dust. Street de-construction is taking place in front of my house now but on the other side of the street. When our daughter comes home from work in the afternoon, I am on call to be out there to stop traffic in case someone (resident or HUGE construction vehicle) tries to come the wrong way before she can get into the driveway.

No rain here today but it did rain during last night and it says rain tonight and tomorrow. Temps in 40's today. We only went on the bus to WalMart today. We filled the two shopping bags we took. I want to sew a couple more but not tonight. Grocery shopping tomorrow. I may want to buy a new crossword book if I see one in the grocery store. We do try to get out every day since we live in an apartment now so no gardening or outdoor chores. We have a ride tomorrow so may go more places. I do like living in Wisconsin. It's not Texas where it was 80's today but it was not freezing cold.

Happy Thursday morning. Slight chance of rain today, but the chances really go up to 80% overnight and tomorrow. And stays rainy through Monday. I started on the mowing yesterday and hope to finish it this evening when I get home.

Today is my last day at my morning job! Im going to miss the discount (25%!) and a few of my coworkers haha.
At my evening job, I moved depts, so Ill be able to get 40 hours, and work from roughly 8a-4p (might be as early as 7 or as late as 4:30). And I make more per hour at the 2nd job anyway. First job doesnt do raises o_O

Good morning all. Might rain this afternoon and shut down construction on the street out front.....GOOD THING....the constant beeping of the equipment backing up is irritating. I don't think they ever go forward. o_O
But on the fun side I have started naming the equipment, the large gravel/dirt haulers are Blue Boy, Red Rider and Purple Sage. The little multi terrain loader is Monarch since it's made by Caterpillar and is gold and black. The really large road grader looks like a George to me. The white pickup trucks that show up from time to time are Boss, Foreman and Supervisor but I don't know which is which.
