Toni, when life gives you lemons, or in this case construction, you sure know how to make lemonade out of an irritant! "Monarch" by Caterpillar--that's a particularly apt name for the machine.:like:
I nipped into town with eggs and four bouquets of roses for the ladies at the hair salon, did my grocery shopping, and came home to find my dear husband mowing the front lawn. I think that means I'm mowing the back yard this afternoon, before the predicted rain comes, or doesn't come. It's so muggy the humidity might as well go ahead and form droplets and fall.

Hope everyone is having a good day. It's going to be 60 f. here today. I'm going to make a wreath with my hens and chicks. They are all the same so I hope it looks good when it's finished. Next year I'll have lots of sedums to make one with.

Good Friday morning all. Currently 10°C and overcast. We had heavy rains and thunderstorms overnight and this morning, and the ground is completely saturated. I have a lake on the bottom of the property! Clean up today, maybe some baking, and definitely going to plant some seeds later. Have a great day all :)

Happy Friday afternoon. No work for me today and it was supposed to be rainy all day. So I was in no hurry to get out of bed this morning.
When I finally did get up, I headed straight outside and grabbed the weedeater. Got everything done, finally, including around the fencelines, around the trees in the pasture, everywhere! WHEW! It really needed done. And then I attacked my berry-area. Cut down the old banana tree stuff, pulled weeds around the blackberries and strawberries. Still needs some work, but at least I can tell what's what now.
And then as I started to separate and replant some stuff, the rain finally showed up. It's just a drizzle, not the big washout they were predicting. Now its time to get cleaned up and kickback.

It was cloudy here today but it didn't rain. I saw on the weather this evening that Oshkosh had two inches of snow last night. I didn't see any snow. We did have some thunderstorms. Maybe we live in "South" Oshkosh and the snow was in "North" Oshkosh. I don't know which part of Oshkosh we live in. I'll have to get out the transit map and have a look. Maybe we live in the middle. We don't have a yard here that we can call "Ours" but there is a yard and a woods just out the back door. I can see the birds flying around and sitting in the trees. There is a bush outside the window here and sometimes a bird sits in it near the window and watches me at the sewing machine or the computer. The sun did come out around 5 pm and it's supposed to be sunny and 60's for a few days now.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -4°C and overcast with North winds. There were some snowflakes falling while I was walking the dog. What happened to spring? I am off to a celebration of life today, for a dear family friend. She had a great life of 90 years, but it will still be hard to say goodbye. I do hope the weather is good tomorrow ... I will be home and needing some garden therapy. Have a great day all :)

Netty, my condolences on the loss of your friend. I had a 96 year old friend in New York who passed about two years ago, and I'm just now getting to the point where I can remember all the good times we had, and all the laughs. It will come, and garden therapy is the best therapy.
I am to mow the back yard today, as soon as the grass dries out! Ninety percent humidity (I may get out of that task!). I cleaned house today since my usual Friday cleaning was put off while I baked and cooked. I love a day in the kitchen!

It was a beautiful sunny day here today. We went out and walked around and rode the bus to WalMart and Fleet Farm. Had a couple of shopping bags of stuff to bring home. We bought a popcorn popper but didn't manage to get any popcorn for it. Maybe tomorrow. No, there are no buses tomorrow. Guess we don't need popcorn before Monday anyway. It was 60's here today and will be all week until Friday when some 50's will come back. Didn't need a coat today, just a spring jacket. Today would have been my mom's birthday. She passed away in 1990 but I still remember her birthday every year. My sister and niece both had a birthday yesterday. It used to be a big celebration with all three of them.

Good almost afternoon all. Quiet around here since construction doesn't happen on Sunday....almost eerily quiet.

Went to a gun show with hubby yesterday and since it was in Mesquite,Tx we went to the cemetery to look for my grandparents. I had never been there but Mom had told me where they were (on the right after going in the main gate, but in the 68 yrs since, a new main gate had been added so it took a while of wandering to find them. Had lunch, did some shopping then home to a supper of fried Spam and black-eyed peas.

Today we go to the final performance of Fiddler on the Roof at our youngest grandson's school.....he is playing the Rabbi.

Beautiful sunny day. Went walking twice. Once to get the Sunday papers and another 60 minute walk while clothes were in the dryer. I wonder if another walk will happen later. It did say an afternoon shower. I'd better check the weather before we venture out again.

Good Monday morning all. Currently 8°C and sunny. I spent the entire day out in my happy place yesterday (my gardens!) I managed to get grass raked, shrubs pruned, perennials cleaned up, gardens raked out, and my ornaments put out. Such a great day! We BBQ'd some burgers and then went for a long walk. I slept very well last night :) Today, some indoor cleaning, home made pizza, and then back outside until my daughter gets home from school. Then we are off to the arena for a couple hours of skating. Busy, busy Monday! Have a great day all :)

    Happy Monday morning... almost afternoon.
Nice weekend, and thankfully the weather predicters were way off base. They said we'd have storms and rains beginning Thursday night. Friday, it just drizzled here and there. Saturday was dry except a little in the evening. Sunday again, sprinkles here and there. And early this morning a thunderstorm rolled through.
So I got about 1.75 inches of rain over the weekend.
Managed to get all of the plants repotted or up-potted, divided and placed. Planted some sunflower seeds. Pulled weeds.. and yes, got all of the weedeating and trimming done.
Now they are predicting rain for the next several days. I have meetings both tonight and Tuesday night, so that's fine with me since I won't have any time to do anything.

Good afternoon all. And a very good one so far, woke to heavy rain and some thunder this morning. :like: Rain has moved north and east now and nothing on the radar to look forward too but it left 2.25 inches in the really large rain gauge out front. Add to that the 1 inch we got back on the 5th and that gives us almost twice the amount we got in the whole month of April last year. 2015 so far is a lot wetter than we have had in many years. We could get more tonight and most of the rest of the week.
