Good Thursday morning all. Currently 8°C and sunny. I'm not sure why we haven't had any rain here, but I think it's all at Toni's house for a change. Off to work, where we are busy prepping beds for the annuals that will be planted in the next few weeks. Have a great day all :)

Happy Thursday morning. I little rain yesterday, not enough to really measure. 30% chance of more of that stuff today. Temps in the mid 80s. Lots to do around the house, inside and out. I still haven't totally unpacked. Laundry needs done. House needs cleaned (how did it get so dirty while I was away?). Grass needs mowed. Weeds need pulled. Guess I'll be a busy girl this weekend, good thing I have tomorrow off work too!

Good morning all. Wow, 60-80 mph winds, very heavy rain, 1.5 inches, last night, but at least the wind was blowing in a straight line and not circular as in round and round the funnel we go. There were reports of tornadoes not far from here but they were in pastures and no people or animals injured. Some areas north of us got almost 10 inches of rain in just a couple of hours.

We were going to hubbies folks today for early Mother's Day but his dad just called to let us know that his Mom has a stomach virus so we have a change of plans. We will probably go down there tomorrow morning to take the lasagna and cake we had for her but won't be staying.

Good Friday evening all. Currently 22°C and it is 9:30pm. We hit a high of 32°C today, and that is a new record. Still no rain here, although there is a chance of thunderstorms for tomorrow. Left early this morning for work and totally forgot to check in! Had a busy day at work, and left feeling kind of grumpy and un-appreciated, so I stopped at my favorite greenhouse on the way home. Spent almost an hour there, talking to the owners and picking out my tomato plants and veggie starts. (I think I am going to have to expand my garden to accommodate all the tomatoes :snicker: ) Came home and had a helper in my garden (daughters boyfriend) , it just made my day so much better. I am exhausted now and heading to bed.:smt015

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 17°C and cloudy. I had a great sleep, but I'm up bright and early today. I'm excited to work in my own gardens today! I have my bean seeds soaking and ready to plant, as well as some kale and seeds to put in. It is a few weeks early for this area, but the long range forecast is looking great. I just hope the weather doesn't turn ugly after that! Have a great day all :)

Good Saturday morning! Our day started out well--after cleaning the coop and letting the ladies out, I checked the garden and found our first squash blossom and that the second plantings of corn and beans are up! Nothing is so cheering as seeing things grow (except weeds.)

Good morning all. We did end up going to hubby's folks yesterday but not to stay and visit (we don't want that bug) we delivered the lasagna and cake intended for our lunch so they could have something to eat until MIL started feeling better and her gift so she can start planning on what shopping to do. She loves to wander through and find goodies at Michael's craft store so we have been getting her gift cards (usually Visa so she can shop and eat out).

This evening we take the grandson's out shopping for their Mom's gifts and tomorrow she and I are going to a Vintage Market to see what kind of damage to the bank account we can do.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 16°C and overcast. No rain yesterday as promised, but there is a chance of rain today. I do hope we get some! Housework is in the plans today ... not the best way to spend Mothers Day! Maybe I'll try to convince the kids to do it :) Have a great day all :)

Good Monday morning all. Currently 13°C and foggy. We finally got a good rain last night, and the temperatures have returned to almost normal. It's going to be the start of a crazy week today! Have a great day all :)

Happy Monday morning. Where did the weekend go? Between getting the mowing done and cleaning house I didn't even get a chance to put a few recently acquired plants in the ground.
I actually used my newly installed soaker hoses for the first time, just to see how they worked. I'm gonna like it much better than watering with a hose or sprinklers.
But... looks like I don't have to worry about that... good chances of rain everyday this week!!! grrrrrrrrr
I was telling my brother, I think I preferred it when we had a drought! At least you could control how much water things got.
So, I guess it's a good thing I didn't get those flowers planted... sure don't want these to drown like the others.

Good morning from the Texas monsoon season! We got rain Saturday, Sunday, and it's predicted for every day this week. We had ducks come from the pond, seeking shelter in the house so they could dry off a bit.;)
Mowing is out of the question, which means it will be very exciting when things dry off and we can mow.
I harvested yet more basil and parsley this morning and am making basil balls and parsley balls for the freezer. The kitchen smells pretty "green"!

Hello from a very dreary and cold NB. We are a ways off from planting yet. I took a quick trip out to the greenhouse to check on things there. The green house is not heated so I need to keep an eye on the thermometer. Almost lost my tomatoes and melons the other night. Temps went down further than the forecast predicted. Will have to run some heat in there at night mid week as it is supposed to go to the freezing mark. It just feels like March and not May. Hard to think of planting when it is this cold but it does promise to warm up late in the week. Here's hoping!:fingerscrossed:

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 15°C and overcast. The weather roller coaster continues ... the temperature is plunging and tonight and tomorrow night there is a chance of frost. 2 days ago we broke heat records! Off to work, where garden prep continues. Have a great day all :)

Morning all. Well, mom accepted an offer on the house. Im kind of sad to have to move, we've lived in that house for 15 years and in Castleton for around 20 years. Wow.

Weather is nice if a bit chilly. Sunny and 54º right now with a high of 67º. A big change from yesterday, when we had storms! I need to go out front and try to refluff the irises which fell over onto my new plants I put in last week (oh, Im in Columbus this morning!). Have plans to go to a nearby nursery today and inquire about a job :)

Good morning. I worked in the backyard almost all day yesterday, the temp was only in the 70's for a change and it was the first day in about a week with no rain. The rain is returning this afternoon and will probably stay around the rest of the month. No complaints here, our lakes and water reservoirs are finally full for the first time in 10 years.
But our back to normal Spring weather has also produced at least 4 tornadoes with 5 deaths and lots of major damage.
