It rained last night--go figure! So today is inside, as it is too soupy outside to do anything but damage. I have a pot of chicken stock on the stove and plan to write a couple of short articles for our June newsletter. The "Chicken Chat" part is always easy--the girls offer so many opportunities for a little humor:).

Good morning everyone. Hope everyone has a great day. We are having a wet rainy week here. My succulents aren't going to like all the rain, but nothing I can do. By now I'm sure everyone's snow has melted and spring is in full swing. Most of my plants have bloomed and others are still growing. My Dahlias haven't even came up yet. My glads are up and growing.yeehaa!

Good morning all....another 3 inches of rain feel really early this morning. Lot of thunder and wind but nothing flying through the air or moving in a circular motion.
Getting odds and ends taken care of this week preparing to be gone for 5 days on our anniversary trip. Thankfully, there is rain in the forecast for the days we are gone so not as much worry about parched plants screaming in agony as in year passed.

Good Monday morning all. Currently 16° and overcast. It is Victoria Day here in Canada, and so it is a day off for me! Lots to do around the house though, including the mountain of laundry that I hung out on the line yesterday ... it needs folding and put away which are my LEAST favorite things to do. Chance of rain so I may just be doomed to do house work all day. I must admit ... this house needs it! Have a great day all :)

Happy Monday morning. Jane... I got to mow too on Saturday! It was actually pretty nice. NO RAIN! Sunday I got a few things planted that have just been sitting in their pots. Pulled some weeds and piddled around... that is until it started raining. More rain this morning and tomorrow.
Flooding in the usual places, especially since they are releasing the dams up river.

Good morning all, no rain since about 3 a.m. Sunday morning so the flooded areas have time to drain before the next round hits. Weather man mentioned one of the little bits of info that I find interesting last night......when this area gets 1/2 inch more rain, we will have had more in the past 5 months than we had in the whole 12 months of 2014....just over 21 inches.

I have some plants to get in the ground or up-potted and lots of weeds to pull before it rains again. I love having that problem instead of not being able to dig dirt or pull weeds because the lack of rain has made the soil like concrete.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 17°C and overcast. The humidity is gone so it will be a nice day for working outside. Off to work, where my planting plans have changed due to chance of frost tonight. May have to work on other things today. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Two more 'sleeps' and we leave on vacation. Scattered storms forecast for today and basically the rest of the week and it's very humid so I have no plans for working outside.

Good Tuesday morning to everyone. It's chilly and rainy here today. My yard needs the rain but my succulents don't. I'm hoping they soon dry out. I added some sand and gravel to improve the drainage.its going to be a rainy week here so I'll be glad when it's over.Happy day to all.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently just 2°c and feeling colder with the winds. Thankfully the winds should stop frost from settling. But it is so cold and it is going to be a long day! Have a good day everyone :)

Good morning all. More tornado activity in north Texas last night, both south and west of me. The one west of me hopped all over the place for a few hours before weakening and pulling back up in the clouds for good. Lots of damage but I haven't heard of any injuries yet. Between the tornadoes and flooding, it seems like Spring of long ago....one good thing about the drought was that it kept all of those things from happening around here for the last few years.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 10° and overcast. It feels a lot warmer than it was yesterday! I was up late last night and so I am dragging my butt today. I wish I could say I had an easy day ahead, but I have a busy day ahead, so I think it will be a long one! Have a great day all :)

Good rainy morning all. On our way to places west of here this morning. Have to get around the low flooded spots along the way but it should be clear before too far down the road.

Abilene tonight, Alpine tomorrow night, then Abilene for two more nights and then home. You all have a good time without me, see you sometime Monday evening.

Happy Thursday afternoon. Rain rain rain. And some more today. Rivers out of their banks. More soggy plants. Actually dug up a couple and put in pots to see if they will survive.
But, it's not all complaints from me today.... 4 day weekend starting with happy hour with friends in a few minutes.
Tomorrow... getting alarm system installed in the house - punk kids breaking into places around town.
Rest of the weekend... hoping for dry weather so I can play outside... and not sink to my knees in the mud.

Good Friday morning all. Currently just 5°C and clear. It is going to be a nice day, but a cool one. I am worried about tonight ... temperatures of just 1°C overnight and my beans just sprouted! I am going to have to figure out a way to cover them up. No rain here for weeks and so watering I will go - my work gardens are like a dust bowl! Have a great day all :)
