Good Monday morning all. Currently 19°C and overcast. It is very humid today. Off to work, where hopefully there was an overnight rain... I don't want to drag hoses! Have a great day all :)

Happy Monday morning. Yep Toni... summer temps are back! But I still managed to get most of my yard work done. Finally was able to mow the front of the pasture... now that was a chore! The yards are mowed, just didn't get to the weed-eating/trimming. Finally used my soaker hoses for the first time (besides a test). I like them! Just turn it on and go about doing other stuff for hours. I was going to bury them under the mulch, but glad I didn't since I needed to move them around a bit. Then I began the attack on that overgrown fence line (again). This time, spraying. Going out and buying a power pole saw today. Was also finally able to assess the blackberries... What I thought was green/live canes are actually briars. Berries... drowned or choked out or both. Will be cleaning out that area and prepping it correctly to plant some more next year. Or maybe I'll put some in big tubs, a cousin said he was going to bring me some. I also planted lots of new flowers, mostly annuals but a few perennials. And watered the containers. Whew... back to work for some rest!

Good morning all. 93 yesterday, 96 today, creeping up on 100 tomorrow. The arbitrary beginning of Summer is still two weeks away, but there is hope because the arbitrary beginning of Autumn is only 107 days away.

Bird feeders are all refilled, many plants watered and that is the end of my outside activity for the day.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 15°C and raining. We had a much needed, long, soaking rain shower yesterday. I am confident that everything is well watered. Off to work today, where I got the OK and ordered 16 yards of triple mix. It would have been much easier if it came before I planted annuals! Have a great day all :)

Happy Tuesday morning. Temps from mid 70s to mid 90s and only a itty bitty chance of rain.
Time for me to start up-potting some stuff for the plant sale. I think I may have to buy a few bigger containers... maybe 3 gallon ones. Maybe the fresh soil and a bigger home will get them to grow up some.

Good morning all. Today my oldest daughter turns 48.....where on earth did all those years go!!
Only hit 95 yesterday, yea! the weather prediction missed it by one degree....not like it makes any difference at that level. Same coming up for today.

Toni, wish you daughter a wonderful birthday from all us Stewies (and she is lucky to have such a great mama).
I just finished mowing the back yard, after picking cukes and tomatoes and beans in the garden. I took a shower, but I'm still dripping wet--guess it's time to turn on the air conditioning!

Our AC is on 24/7 since early May, but that's what happens when you live in the city with all the concrete, cars and no breeze.

Thanks Jane, she is a member of GardenStew but just doesn't have time to visit anymore, being a single Mom, two sons in Scouts, she is very active in the Boy Scout organization, full time teacher and now working on her Masters Degree, gardening has really taken a backseat.

Good day all. Sunny now. Had storms last night and dense fog this morning.
Im tired, dont really feel like doing much of anything. I had to drive Karl to work this morning because he and his boss are leaving for North Carolina for a job training thing, and Karl wanted to make sure I had a car since mine is broken down right now.
I managed to put away some of my clothes this morning after finally dragging my dresser upstairs a few days ago. Karl was going to help me, but he was at work when I got the itch to get it done hehe. Have a load in the washer I need to dry. Im just feeling soooooo lazy!

Good Wednesday morning all. It was kind of a disappointment when I realized this morning that is wasn't Thursday after all! It was hard getting up this morning, I'll have to try to get to bed earlier this morning. Off to work, where a few days of rain has the weeds growing like I've never seen! It shall be an interesting day. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Had a great time last night celebrating oldest daughter's birthday. Tex-Mex at her favorite restaurant, chocolate fudge cake, Molten Lava Cake Ice Cream and mainly the 6 of us sitting at her house visiting after the presents were opened. Now in three weeks will be youngest daughter's 28th birthday. They are both just getting too grown up.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 13°C and overcast. We had several storms yesterday, and there is a possible tornado touchdown in 2 nearby towns. We just got a LOT of rain here, and I am content that I won't have to water for a few days. Off to work ... I'm sure I won't have to water there either. Have a great day all :)

Happy Thursday afternoon. I got a battery-powered pole saw the other day... how did I ever live without this tool???
No low-hanging or dead branches are safe now!! So easy to use and gets the job done quick! I'm deteremined to get that fence line cleaned.
I'm back to watering the flower beds for a couple of days. Looks like we're due to get rain over the weekend. Only one day please... I've got too much to do outside still to be couped up in the house.

Good Friday morning all. TGIF!!! Currently 14°C and overcast, with rain in the forecast. Off to work - no watering today! My dirt did not get delivered so I'm not really sure what to do today. There is ALWAYS weeding to do! Have a great day all :)

Happy Friday morning. There was a brief rain shower this morning... not enough to even measure. But rain chances for the weekend is 70% and will remain high until the middle of next week. Why can't it just rain one day at a time instead of a week at a time?
I cut down and hauled off 2 more truck loads of branches from along the driveway. I'm loving that pole saw!
I think this weekend's chore will be up-potting and feeding the potted plants designated for the sale. Yikes... August isn't that far off!
