Good morning all. Just another hot and sunny day here. Maybe some rain this weekend but I am not holding my breath waiting for it. Would love to have morning temps below 80 so I can get out and work in the garden and high temps below 90.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 12°C and overcast. I do hope the sun makes an appearance today. We have had lots of rain this week and the plants look like drowned rats and the grass needs cut. I'm still working on filling in the spots in the back beds with some annuals, but I am getting tired of planting the same old stuff. I feel a trip to a new garden center coming on! Lots of housework to do first though. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Just another hot, sunny, dry day here....only 103 days until the Autumnal Equinox but probably a month+ after that before Autumn finally arrives.

Wow Toni, I'm counting down the days until summer and heat get here, and you are counting down the days until Autumn arrives!! Maybe you should consider a summer home in Ontario ... :chuckle:

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 17°C and overcast. There must have been light rain overnight as everything is wet. Just yesterday I was thinking that I was almost caught up in the garden, when I realized I haven't touched 2 beds at all yet! One needs a good weeding and some annuals added, and the other needs a complete makeover. Guess I know where I will be spending my time today! Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. We got a trace of rain yesterday, that amounts to less than 1/10th of an inch or also known as basically little more than spitting on the ground. But if almost Hurricane Bill keeps on the predicted track, it could hit land just south of Houston (goodness knows they don't need more rain) and come pretty much straight north from there and give us heavy rain. I guess I was lax in specifying just how much rain and in what kind of weather conditions I wished the rain to occur ... have to refine my requests from now on

Good afternoon all! Yesterday we had some very heavy rains. A lot of the shops on my street got flooded and they were sweeping out water as I walked past. Got to feel bad for them. I think the heavy rain is over for a while now though as it seems to have gotten it out of its system.
Have a wonderful start to your week :stew1:

Good Monday morning all. Currently 17°C and foggy. We also had heavy rain yesterday and the yard is puddles. Off to work, where I am hoping there isn't big puddles, but happy that I won't have to water anything. Have a great day all :)

Happy Monday morning. More rain totals.... Friday 2.5 inches... Saturday 2.5 inches. Sunday... just a couple sprinkles.
This morning is nice... the calm before the storm. Toni, I don't think it's officially a hurricane... yet... just tropical depression. But that could change at any moment. They are predicting 5 inches of rain tonight and up to 11 inches tomorrow. I probably should have moved some plants indoors yesterday, and took down a few decorations, but my allergies were so bad I couldn't stand to be outdoors. So I'll take care of that when I get home this evening... hopefully not in the pouring rain, but oh well... Gotta do what you gotta do. I think I'll take tomorrow off work... or at least plan on it... just in case this storm is as bad as they say. No sense in driving in storm.

Good morning all. Yeah, Hurricane status is not established yet, I jumped the gun on that one, read a not so accurate website for that info. But they are still predicting it to come up my way, so I am looking forward to some rain. Until yesterday June was proving it could bring the past into the future...90+ temps and no rain. But we had a whoppin' 3/8ths inch yesterday and not quite 1/4th inch so far today.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 19°C and raining. Another wet morning to be heading to work, but I do have a bit to do indoors. I slept like a rock last night, but I feel like I could sleep more. Have a great day all, and stay dry :)

Happy Tuesday morning. Just sitting and waiting on Tropical Storm Bill to get here. He was supposed to arrive late last night, but is still about an hour away from landfall. Looks like he'll be heading south of Houston (I'm NE of there), but we're still supposed to get heavy rains. I was tempted to make the drive into work, but the weather forecasters talked me out of it... saying that the worst of it could be on the commute home. So I think I'll just take the day off. The winds have just picked up and the rain is getting a little heavier.
I took down the hummingbird feeders and other decorations that I didn't want to blow around. And moved some plants indoors and set some of them down off shelves. I even picked most of the green chiles to lighten the load on the plants so no more "branches" would break off.
So, looks like I'll be roasting chile today... that is as long as we don't lose power. I don't want to heat up the house if I can't run the AC.
So come on Bill... get in here and get out... I hate this waiting! :)

Yea, poor Bill never made it Hurricane status even though the weather prognosticators up here tried their best to encourage him. But we are forecast to be on the 'dirty side' so the rain amount should be pretty high, some are saying anywhere from 4" to 10" and many areas up here have not gotten rid of the water from the Memorial Day weekend flooding.

Stay as dry as possibly Cheryl, it's gonna be a wet couple of days.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 11°C and clear. Maybe today will finally be the day that my soil gets delivered at work? It has been raining ever since I ordered it and so it has not come. It really slows down planting! In the mean while, there are lots of weeds to pull. Have a great day all :)

Happy Wednesday morning. Tropical Storm Bill went west of Houston, he barely made an impact at my house. Light rain most of the day and a littler heavier in the afternoon. Only dropped 1.75 inches of rain and no wind. I moved all that stuff for no reason. Oh well.... the hummingbird feeders got a good cleaning and the plants got to spend the day indoors. :)
Raining again this morning... the remnants of the storm.. I think it's worst out now than it was yesterday.
Rain chances dropping significantly for the rest of the week.. only 30% chances through the weekend.
