Good morning all. We actually have had a couple of days under 100 deg, back up there today but this coming week should be bouncing between 98-100 most of days. May the heat wave has broken....now if we could just get some rain. We are just 3 days away from this rainless stretch being tied for the 4th longest on record....course in my yard it's already the 2nd longest at 48 days.

The construction guys had to be reminded to leave us access to the driveable street before they left for another job but we can come and go as we please for now. Errands to run today, been a long stretch of going nowhere but I really didn't mind it at all.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 16°C and overcast. No rain here yesterday, but there were some storms nearby. Maybe we will get some today. Off to look for shoes for my daughter today, and then home to do some housework. I also have some produce to pick and gardens to water. Have a great day all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 19°C and clear. Well, apparently there are no shoes in all of south central Ontario that my daughter likes! UGH! When did buying running shoes become such a chore?? Oh that's right ... that happened right after my daughter turned 12...Preteen. I had almost forgotten what that was all about. Making some salsa today, and canning some beans and relish. Then its out to the back gardens. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. High temps are now only in the upper 90's, hopefully the 100+ days are gone for this year. Still no rain but one forecaster has put the chance of some in the line-up for Wed - Friday...but those are just a chance of scattered storms...doesn't really mean much unless you are under one of them.

Going down to Randy's parents today, our nieces birthday is Thurs and we haven't been down there since June. Plus they have been picking wild grapes for me for jelly making, they had a very wet fall last year so the crop will be better than it has been in about 5 years but it's still not as good as it used to be. Just too much dryness around here.

Good Monday morning all. CUrrently 18°C and clear. We have a heat advisory in effect today, and a chance of thunderstorms for tonight. Off to work where it will be a day of dragging hoses again.
Toni, I don't know how you Texans do it ... I think I would surely melt in that kind of constant heat!
Have a great day all :)

Morning all. Not such a good one for us, our cat Spooky died early this morning, I found him when I got up. We think it was some injury done to him by the abusive previous owner or something that we just didn't know was happening, that took him but it looked like it happened suddenly, like he got up out of his bed and he collapsed.

Toni, we lost our beloved Feliz in February, after 14 years of loving and petting. I understand to some degree what you and Randy are feeling, and sympathize. After a while you start to remember the funny/weird things Spooky did, and you'll have happy memories of a pet that brought so much happiness to your lives, and you to his.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 20°C and clear. Another heat advisory in effect today, but relief by thunderstorms is on the way this afternoon . I just hope they aren't severe. It will be nice not to have to water things for a few days. Picked more tomatoes yesterday and so it looks like a canning day in the near future. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all! We are having some pretty great weather here today. Our summer has been rather crummy so far this year but finally we are getting a bit of a reprieve. We've been busy on the farm in this good weather as you can imagine.
Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday ahead! :stew2:

Morning all. Today sucks as will most days until I get used to being cat-less. I am going to watch Armageddon and other action movies (HellBoy comes to mind) and knit to keep my mind off my loss.

On a brighter note, today is day 42 in the official count of days without rain and now is the 3rd longest on record , my yard is on the unofficial day 52.

I was given peaches by a friend of my daughters last week, Sunday we came home from Randy's folks with a gallon bag full of wildgrapes and two heavy bags of pears....I have jam and jelly to be making. Plus we found a pretty good, very low carb bread recipe that we tried last night, now Randy can have bread again and pizza too using this recipe as the crust.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 19°C and clear. No rain materialized yesterday, and none in the forecast today. Looks like another day to drag hoses. Small wedding today at work but we made the gardens lovely yesterday. Have a great day all :)

Morning all. I am looking forward to the first thing I think of when I wake up is what's for supper.... instead of Spooky. It is sprinkling out side and tomorrow the temperature is supposed to be only in the low 80's....I guess H*** is actually freezing over in August. But never fear, the upper 90's will return by the weekend.
Didn't watch the Hellboy movies after Armageddon yesterday, I watched Ghost Rider with Nicholas Cage. I think Cosmos today....but which one...Carl Sagan or Neil DeGrass Tyson....either one I will have to really concentrate on what they are saying. o_O And that's a good thing.

It's been a really windy day today. Had to hold onto my hat a few times when we were out and about today. I went and got my hair cut, not short, but layered so it doesn't fly out all the time. Stopped and had lunch and then bought a few groceries.
It does look like it might rain anytime now. It did say rain after 4 pm (here) and it's after 5 pm now. Sunny tomorrow so we may go to the library. Since we moved to Wisconsin again we've been out and about every day. We decided not to turn in to old people who just sit and stare at the television all day. So, every morning we get up and walk to the bus stop and go where the bus takes us. There are 8 different bus routes here in Oshkosh and we have been on all of them. Not in the same day though. We are thinking we may take a bus from Oshkosh to Neenah tomorrow and have lunch at the gyro restaurant. It's about a half an hour ride up to Neenah. A total of about an hour from here since we have to get to the downtown transit station to get the bus to Neenah. We've met some really nice people riding the buses. Yesterday, we went past a small farmers market set up in a shopping center. So, we got off the bus at the next corner and went back to it. We got some nice zucchini and some small yellow onions for a good price. We had some last evening and it was very good. I hope you all had a good day, too. dooley
