Good Thursday morning all. Currently 23°C and overcast. There is a 90% chance that we are going to get some rain today, and boy do we need it! We went and cleaned my sons dorm room and made a list of things we need to get. Boy, summer is almost over and soon he will be going back to school! Where does the time GO? Off to work where I will spend a good part of the day counting and cutting posts for a deer fence. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Heavy fog this morning. Hoping it burns off by this afternoon. I need to pick another basket of green beans as we are to have a showers for the next several days. This morning I am making bread and butter pickles and sealing yesterdays yellow bean harvest through the Food Saver. Have a great day!

It was cloudy and dark here most of the day. We got drizzled on several times on our journey here and there around town. It was still windy enough to blow you down the streets so you didn't have to waste energy walking, just keeping your hat in place. We stopped at an office supply place and bought a new computer desk and chair. Then, we had to spend the day rearranging things to make them fit into the space we have. But, there will be room now when we take this table away. We will have to stay home tomorrow and wait for them to deliver it. Probably just a walk to the corner store for the paper until the stuff has been delivered. Hope everyone's day was good, too.

Would you believe 74 degrees in mid-August in Texas? We had a cold front move in with mild winds and cooler weather. then we got RAIN! After 50 days without a drop of moisture from the skies, our rain barrels are now full, and the 250 gal. cubes are filling. Our windows are open, there is fresh air in the house, and I'll be weeding like crazy tomorrow because the weeds won't just snap off at ground level--I'll actually have a chance of getting them roots and all!

Good Friday morning all. Currently just 16°C and clear. After a week of hot temperatures we finally had some rain and now a cool down. It will be nice not to have to water gardens for a change, especially on a Friday! It looks like a day of canning garden produce tomorrow, and some peaches. Have a great day all :)

Dooley, your day trips sound like so much fun.....where are the photos, you will be sharing photos....right? :)

Morning all. Yesterday was wonderful temperature wise, the low was 65 and the high was 75. Only the 6th time in 110 years that the temp has been that low in August in north central Texas. A whole whopping 1/4th of an inch of rain on my yard but the rain barrels were very ready for all of it.

The street out front is waiting for the concrete trucks to start arriving, then it's 3 days of letting it cure, then they work on the driveway entrances and sidewalks, concrete will get poured and another 3 days of waiting for that to cure, then our street will be open again. We figure we will be driving again by the end of August.

Happy Friday morning! Where has the week gone? We've actually been getting some rain this week. Maybe adds up to around 1.5 inches. And it's drizzling now. Perfect rain... last for hours, but isn't a downpour. I can just hear the grass, trees, plants all breathe a sigh of relief. Bet they are out there doing the happy dance!

Good Saturday morning all. Currently just 10°C and sunny. I'm heading out to the garden to pick a few more things before my canning day begins. I will be canning beans, peaches, salsa, tomatoes and making another batch of bread and butter pickles. It's going to be a busy day! Have a great day all :)

Morning all. I have 15 jars of peach jam (rum added) in the pantry and 9 jars of wild grape jelly too....and every blessed one of them has set up perfectly, as opposed to last year when they were all runny. The pears are not quite ripe enough to use yet, maybe by Monday.

The street has been poured out front and has to set-up for at least 3 days, then they will come in and do the driveway entrances....sidewalks will be done later. But we might actually get to bring the pickup home and use it sometime next weekend. But forced confinement hasn't been bad at all, even cheaper in the long run since we can't make any spur of the moment trips to whichever store comes to mind and buy things......but then there is always Amazon

Good morning all! My alarm clock didn't go off this morning, what's with that?
Today the forecast says heavy rain and there is actually a yellow weather warning in place. I think it is worse in the eastern part of the country though.
Have a super Sunday ahead all :like::stew1:

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 16°C and sunny. It was a busy day in the kitchen yesterday, but since I got it all done yesterday I can work in the gardens today! Lots to weed, water and deadhead in the back gardens and the veggie garden needs a makeover. First, there is laundry to fold. Have a great day all :)

Good Monday morning all. Currently 18°C with light rain falling. Yesterday turned into anything BUT a day in the garden! But I did get to spend the end of the day out in the gardens, better than nothing I suppose. Off to work, where I will spend the day in someone elses gardens. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Still hot and no rain around here, less than a month until the calendar says Autumn has begun and by then we most likely will have seen the last of the 95-105 degree temperatures...I am soooo ready for that.

Good day all! My regular work laptop was out of commission for the last three weeks. The bearings disintegrated in the cooling fan and it sounded like a jet engine when in use. However I ordered a replacement fan from eBay and after installation I am able to enjoy a quiet, working environment once again :) I love fixing things (when everything goes right).
Enjoy the rest of your day all!
