Good morning all. Just another day of sunny, hot and dry. 95 is our forecast high. High pollen count with pigweed close to the top because of the heat and drought of the last few years, so itch eyes and sinus problems are making me rethink working in the garden today. Think I will take some allergy drops, stick the Dead Like Me dvds in the player and knit today.

Good Friday morning all. Currently 9°C and overcast. We did get a bit of light rain overnight, but that is over and there is no more rain in the forecast for at least a week. Busy day today, before our long weekend begins. Work today, and then picking up my son from school, and a long holiday weekend with the whole family. I look forward to it all! Have a great day all :)

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 2°C and sunny. It sure was a chilly dog walk this morning! Lots to do today! There is lots to do in the garden ... carrots, kale, cabbage to pick as well as cleanup and manure to spread. Firewood needs stacking, lawn furniture putting away, and gardens to clean out. I have to clean the house as well, because there will be a big supper here tomorrow. A busy day ahead! Have a great day all :)

It's a little cool here this morning but we are going to have a couple nice sunny days for the weekend. I see the sun coming over the tree tops so it should start warming up. I still think I will wear a jacket to the farmer's market this morning. I am going to take my new walker, too. It's bright red so people will see me coming before the big wheels on it run over their toes. It has brakes and a padded seat for sitting down when I have to stop, too. The doctor said I have to have one since I fell down a couple of weeks ago. That walker is supposed to keep me from tripping over a bump in the sidewalk. It won't keep me from tripping but it might keep me from falling. Have a great day now! Enjoy the sunshine. dooley

Morning all. Can't put it off any longer, I have to get out back and get some plants moved, repotted or just added to the compost barrel. I have used allergies as an excuse for too many days but not today. Maybe just one more cup of coffee first, but no, I'll use that as a reward for getting the Coneflowers moved instead.

Oh, and I got most of my hair chopped off yesterday. It was almost to my waist, too dry and tangled so now there is no hair on my head longer than 3".

Oh my goodness Toni, that is a serious haircut! Before and after pics? Did you donate your hair?

Dooley, it sounds like you have a Ferrari for a walker--bright red and ready to go!
Toni, somehow I didn't picture you with long hair--but you'll most likely find that shorter hair is cooler, easier to maintain, and you can try out different styles. I had long hair, got it cut short when I came to Texas, and have had short, easy-to-shampoo-and-dry, cooler hair ever since.

No photos, I hide when cameras come out. I would usually let it grow over the winter then get a very short cut for summer but about 5 years ago I decided to let it grow for as long as I could stand it and except for a trim of about 3 inches two years ago, yesterday was the first cut in those 5 years. My hair has a lot of natural wave and curls but when it's long all those curls are in a tangled mass hanging down my back.
The guy who cut my hair put it in a bag they have for donations, so I guess eventually it could wind up in a wig.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 11°C and clear. Just having my morning coffee before I start preparing things for our Thanksgiving Lupper. Yup, I said Lupper ... A late lunch/ early supper makes it a Lupper. Son in law has to work tonight and leave by 6 and so we will eat early. I'm going to go and make the apple crisp and the rest has already been made or prepared. We are going to have a feast fit for a king! Have a great day all :)

Good morning all! It's potato picking time :whistling: For the next two/three days we will be in the field with the harvester getting the potatoes out of the ground and into our shed. Thankfully we are promised some nice weather which will make the job much easier. Nothing worse than harvesting potatoes from wet soil :crying:

Enjoy the start to your week all!

Good Monday morning and Happy Thanksgiving all! Currently 13°C and sunny. Well, Lupper was a huge success, and we all agreed that it was nice eating earlier, not being rushed to cleanup, and still being able to go out and walk off the meal and enjoy the beautiful day. It may just be a new tradition! Had the new puppy over as well, and our dog wasn't too keen at first. She warmed up to the idea just before they left haha. Taking my sun back to school today, and then life goes back to 'normal'. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Netty, very glad you and your family had a great Thanksgiving day
Just another hot and dry day here, 95 deg yesterday, today is to be repeat of yesterday. The temps will be cooler for a few days later this week but still no rain in the 10-14 day forecast. October is on average our second rainiest month of the year but not this year.

Moving furniture today (the guest bedroom is now inaccessible due to large pieces of furniture blocking entrance!) so the flooring guys can do their thing tomorrow.
Toni, aren't you glad you got your hair cut and are now cool and also look "cool"? We are warm--the laundry is on the line, baking. I'll have to turn the fan on in the chicken coop around noon--the ladies like to take a nap with a breeze fluffing their feathers.
