Congrats on the rain Toni and MG ... I know how much you needed some!
Good Saturday morning all. Currently 4°C and overcast. A busy day ahead today to start off the weekend ... skating and lots of calls to make, lots to can and clean. And this cooler weather is making me crave a good hearty stew and so I will make a stew too!
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Another 4.77 inches of rain since the reading I took yesterday so we have had about 6.5 inches in 36 hours and it's wonderful. Some in the area will not be sharing my enthusiasm since down where Randy's folks live had up to 14 inches in about 24 inches and more last night.
You really don't want to see my Rain Happy Dance, it's wild, arms flapping, feet stomping, head bobbing side to side....I have to do it inside so the neighbors don't call 911 again.
My Snow Happy Dance I can do outside, it simply involves holding a cup of coffee or tea, looking up at the sky with a BIG smile on my face. The neighbors still think I have gone crazy but at least then I appear to be less threatening so they just shake their head and turn away from their window.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 7°C and overcast with strong wind gusts. We had some rain overnight as well, which we really needed.
Yesterdays plans didn't go as expected ... started with a dead car battery and went downhill from there. I did manage to get another load of carrots canned, and the last of the tomatoes turned into sauce.
I haven't planned my day today ... I think I'll have my coffee and then 'wing it'. Have a great day all :)

Good afternoon all! It's getting chilly and wintery out there already :smt107 Our clocks went back last night so today is going to seem extra short. Who else had their hours change this morning? :)
    Have a super Sunday all!

Good morning all. 58 deg, overcast and soggy outside!!!!!!! Wonderful weather we are having. My garden has gotten 6.72 inches since Thursday, the system is south-east of us and moving to the north-east so that means we will be seeing the sun at some point today. But more rain is forecast for next weekend....I should not get used to the frequency of the rain, no guarantee that it will happen again and if this past year is any indicator, it won't happen again for a long time.

Our time changes next Sunday morning. I had forgotten how close to the change it had gotten, I am so ready to put anything related to summer in the past. Really cool, preferably cold, weather will help erase those memories very nicely.

Good Monday morning all. Currently -2°C and clear. It was very frosty this morning, and that reminded me that I have a lot of garden clean up to do here at home. This is my first day home and I have so much to do that I am actually excited to do chores!! I will start with the outside jobs, as the weather is good today. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all! Wet and dreary day here where I am. Winter is on the way. I'm inside doing this year's taxes before the end of the month deadline, yawn zzz :)
Hope your day is more colourful than mine. Please share any colour if you have it :like:
    Have a top Monday all!

Happy Monday afternoon. We got a bunch of rain over the weekend. 10 to 12 inches at my house. Don't know if the gusts of wind did any damage or not. This morning was cool enough to make me put on jeans and grab a light jacket. But don't worry... I still have on my flip-flops.
It still in the mid to upper 60s right now with mostly sunshine. Hoping to get out of work a little early to at least check and fix up any damages before nightfall.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 0°C and sunny. Special weather statement in effect in all of southern Ontario for overnight and into tomorrow ... heavy rain and high winds. They say it is the remnants of Hurricane Patricia mixing with a low pressure system and we could get up to 75mm in some places. Yay. Good thing I got all my firewood put away yesterday! I'd better batton down the hatches today though, and save my indoor chores for tomorrow. Have a great day all :)
Sorry Frank - not much color left here! But the sunrise was pretty

Good morning all. The weather is lovely here, except for the fact that the evil daystar is once again trying to hog the sky....but more rain is forecast for this coming weekend. We have had the bedroom window open and the fan blowing the cool air into the room and sleeping like babies.

Just ended a 4 day weekend, that saw both of us having eye exams....which by the way came back with really good news. We both have very healthy eyeballs, cataracts notwithstanding.. so no new glasses needed but the reason was because our cataracts are getting cloudier and glasses won't really help.
Wandered through one of our favorite thrift stores and I found a vintage long wool coat, original price around $200, but only cost me $15. And a $60 food processor for $15. We had lunch at our favorite Tex-Mex place, Ojedas, and it didn't wreak havoc on Randy's numbers when he checked his blood two hours later that is a VERY good thing. Got several little projects done that have been waiting so very long for their attention. And got the first of two estimates on repair of the roof....a very reasonable price, good reviews on the company so if the second ones comes out close to it, we will go with the first guy and support a local family business.

Toni, forgive the expression but it seems the sun is shining on you in several areas! Good news about Randy's numbers after lunch; good news about both your eye exams; good news about the roofing cost; and good news about your thrift shop finds.
We haven't had the AC on for a couple of weeks--hurrah! And husband is fitting thresholds to the hallway and to our bedroom from the living room. The thresholds are mesquite--when a tree falls, he falls on it with little cries of glee!

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 7°C and raining. There is a special weather statement in effect calling for heavy rain and damaging winds. Sounds like a good day to stay indoors! Lots of cleaning to do and produce to process. I do have my skating class later, which I will brave the weather for ... I look forward to my ice time! Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. humidity is going up so maybe we will be having some rain in a day or so like predicted. At least the desert dry conditions are abating so the wildfires are being brought under control.

We are having a fairly decent pecan crop this Autumn. They are falling, hitting the roof, rolling down and landing either on the driveway or in the back of Randy's pickup....but this morning that would be on the hood since he didn't back in last night. Time to spend evenings shelling them, some will go into the freezer and some will go to the employee break rooms where our daughters work.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 10°C overcast with strong winds. We had a good soaking of rain and so I feel better about all the trees etc heading into winter. Off to do my errands and shopping today, and then home to mop the floors.
Toni, you are so lucky to be able to grow pecans! I had some sent to me from Texas last year and I can honestly say they were the best pecans I have ever had! The ones we buy here have no flavor and are very expensive. Most times they already have that rancid-been-picked-too-long-ago taste. I guess, like everything else, there really is no substitute for home grown goodness.
Have a great day everybody :)
