Good morning all. Surprisingly I can move fairly easily this morning. After the work I did in the front garden yesterday, on top of cleaning up the back garden the day before, I really didn't expect to be moving with any style or grace this morning. Rain is in the forecast for Friday and Saturday and I had thought I would get busy out there again today, but I am not sure about that right now. The nice thing about cool days all day long is that I don't have to rush out early to beat the heat now.

The Pecan crop being good or terrible is very weather related. If we have a decently wet Fall and early Winter one year then the crop will be pretty good the next year and Oct-Dec is spent picking them up. If not then they all start falling off the tree in about May, black and mostly empty shells....if they even get to that stage. I have no idea what variety but am thinking they are Pawnee, sure wish the squirrel that planted them had brought along an ID tag.

Good Friday morning all. Currently just 2°C and sunny. The winds were howling again last night, keeping me awake. My daughter had an early skating lesson before school, and so we were out bright and early this morning. I am now home to do some serious house cleaning before everyone is home for the weekend. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Another rainy day, what have I done to earn this treat....other than beg and cry (a lot) during the long hot summer. Obviously no garden work today or tomorrow but the rain and wind have dislodged dozens of pecans from the tree so I will be on the hunt during the non-rainy spells.

I think I will start the Halloween movie marathon this afternoon and spend the weekend knitting.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 2°C and overcast. Off to Saturday's morning skate , and then to see my parents and do some shopping. We all need new winter boots and a few other things. Should make for a long day. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. So far my garden has gotten almost 2.5 inches with this rain event. And as usual my measurement is the lowest in the county. I am in the north-west corner and it seems this area just doesn't get as much of the good stuff.....even in winter when the measurement is of snow I always have less than the other areas. Same thing when there is a hail storm but that I am not complaining about.

No gardening today but our PBS station has some good programs on this morning that I like so the day isn't wasted.....Growing a Greener World, Daytripper and The Great British Baking Show....Jane you really should see if your PBS station will carry that one.

It rained here all day. We went out and around on the bus anyway. I bought a big box to keep my writing stuff in. I guess I should have bought some manilla folders to sort the stuff. I can stack it in the box until I get back to the store. I have a triple unit slow cooker so made chili and vegetable beef soup in two of the units today. Soup for supper tonight, chili tomorrow and some for containers in the freezer for another day. Today was a good day for soup. Supposed to be nice tomorrow with temps getting back into 60's for three or four days. Today was the last day for the farmer's market and we didn't go due to the rain but I imagine the pretty much got rained out anyway. Most have those big stands covered with awnings but people have to walk up and down without protection unless they have their own umbrellas. Nearly everyone on the bus had an umbrella. We wore raincoats but didn't take umbrellas. It was a drizzle more than rain so we didn't get really wet. I have some reusable shopping bags cut out and one in the making. I think I will go and finish it. dooley

Toni, our PBS does have the British Baking Show, and we loved last season! However, this year they are showing it at 11 p.m. on Sunday night. :smt022
We woke up at 5 a.m. to a terrific thunder and lighting storm, with sheets of rain. Luckily it ended about an hour later, and has been dry all day, although overcast. No outside work today, except for a soggy slog to the compost pile!

Our PBS station re-broadcasts first time on Sunday evenings then a couple of times other days of the week and at different times. Hope you can catch it sometimes, the 2nd season has been a good one too.

Good morning all! This morning we have to go and gather sheep so we can ultrasound scan them and get an idea of how many lambs are coming this spring :rosy: It's always interesting to see how many sets of twins there are.

Foggy start to our November. Wonder it that's any indication of the month ahead?

Have a top Sunday and start to your November all!

Good Sunday morning all! Currently 10°C and overcast. Welcome November ... so far the forecast is warmer than October! I may actually get some work done out in the yard this week!
I am thankful my 12 year old was easily bribed out of trick or treating with the purchase of a bag of candy. Halloween is my least favorite event of the year (notice I didn't call it a holiday - I think there are much more important things we could be celebrating rather than ghouls and walking around begging for free candy. dumb dumb dumb event. rant over)
A busy day yesterday with skating, and then a trip to the big city to see my parents and go to 'the big mall'. A day of shopping and then home to pack up my son and get him back to his college dorm. I did a LOT of driving yesterday!
Today is laundry day, and maybe a day to bake some muffins. Have a great day all :)

Good morning! :D Morning and morning, it's Sunday afternoon here already, but still... We were supposed to have a storm yesterday. We had some gale force winds and a bit of rain but it never amounted to much. We're on a new storm warning today, but it hasn't arrived yet. We might also get a little storm tomorrow. I've stopped believing the forecast. I might as well go outside, wet my index finger and stick it in the air. It's just as reliable as the forecast. :p I've walked the small pony and will test the big one later to see if his hind leg is ok for work tomorrow. Enjoy your Sunday all.

Happy Sunday morning. Nothing but water here. 14 inches fell from early Saturday morning to early afternoon. 2 inches more in the last 24 hours. Town (Liberty) is flooded. There's water standing here in our pasture. Don't recall seeing that before. My house is on blocks so there's no worry about water coming in. And that the good news.
Bad news, they are releasing water from the dam north of here, and already warning people of serious flooding by the end of the week.
I'm tired of being stuck in the house! I miss the drought!o_O

Cheryl, I'm glad you are high and dry--I was worrying a bit about you. Most of our puddles have soaked in thanks to no rain on Saturday.
Have you ever heard the expression "mad as a wet hen?" Believe me, you have NO idea! The ladies stayed in the coop yesterday since their outside playground had standing water. They retaliated by not laying eggs.

Good morning all! We had a very mild 1st of November, almost a record. Yesterday we ultrasound scanned the sheep, 23 singles and 19 doubles :) No triples that we know of. That's actually pretty good. I think December will see the first arrival.

Another beautiful and fresh morning out there. Hope you all have a wonderful start to your week!

That's a lot of lambs Frank!
Good Monday morning all. Currently 8°C and overcast. I'm not getting used to this time change, nor is the dog. She had me up bright and early, and we were already back from our dog walk by 7am. Now I am wide awake and bushy tailed ready to face the day. Plans just changed and now I am heading to Costco with my daughter, my first time ever. Should be an interesting day! Have a great day all :)
