Good Sunday morning all. Currently just 5°C, but the sun is shining and the winds are gone. We had no internet connections almost all day yesterday, called my provider and the young lad on call was stumped. He told me he would pass my problem on to his senior but it most likely wouldn't be dealt with until Monday. Ugh! My daughter discovered the connection in fine working order just before bed last night, and it is still working well this morning. The kids don't do well here when there is no connection haha Some yard work to do today, and taking my son back to school as well - which always means a stop at the grocery store! Have a great day all :)

Good Monday morning all. Currently 1°C with thick fog. Sun is rising and so it should burn off soon. It's going to be a beautiful day today, with highs of 10°C expected. I'm going to try to get outside and finish cleaning up under the spruce trees today. Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 7°C and sunny. Another nice day ahead, hopefully I can finish the project I started the other day, of cleaning out the weeds and weed trees that are growing up under my evergreens. It has proven to be a much larger job than I had expected, and there is now lots of dead branches in the evergreens. I hope I am not too late! Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Got another inch of rain overnight and again that is the least amount of all the CoCoRaHS reports from Dallas county. But on the good side, our roof was repaired Friday afternoon so no leaks.
The large piece of equipment is still parked in the way. I am going to email the city engineer in charge of the job to see if he will get them to move it so I can get some work done in that section.

Wizard is settling in really well, he has been spending some time the past two evenings in my lap, he has found that he really likes attention and knows the sound of the pop-top lid on the canned food being opened and comes running.

We are having another "rain event" today--so far we've had 1 3/4" since 4 a.m. If I ever get into the flowerbeds without a pontoon boat, I'll do some weeding and cutting back of perennials.
Since we are confined to the house, I am baking cinnamon rolls and my husband is cheering me on!
Toni, your description of Wizard is so endearing. I'm so happy you three found each other!

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 8°C and overcast. Today I am puppy sitting my daughters 14 week old Bernese Mountain Dog, 'Dash'! I don't expect to get too much housework done with the puppy here, but maybe I'll get lucky!
My dog isn't entirely happy about it at all, but she'll get over it. He sure is cute!

Good morning all. Didn't get as cold last night as predicted, the 'heat island' created by downtown Dallas that extends up over where I live never gets as cold as predicted....and we get hotter in the summer than predicted.
Skies cleared up yesterday about mid morning and are staying that way without my permission.

For the first time in many, many years we are living in a house without a landline. With older parents, we had our house phone and cell phone connected so that if we got a call on the house phone, the cell would also ring in order not to miss any calls. Everyone we regularly talked to called on the cell phone, the only calls on the house phone were from telemarketers. We disconnected and boxed up the house phones. Doesn't seem all that long ago that being able to afford to have a home phone was a really big deal, now not having one is becoming more common. Now the only reason we have an account with the regular phone company is for the internet connection.

Good morning all! We had some pretty bad weather recently with two named storms in a two week period. Thankfully there was no damage done but the land is very wet and many homes in the country are still without power.

I understand what you are saying about putting away the home phones Toni. That's the recent trend here also as mobile phones become more common to use. I've tried to convince my folks to move over to a VOIP based system so that they can save on their line rental fees. However that means they would lose their existing number and they don't feel comfortable with that yet.

    Have a top Thursday all!

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 14°C and overcast. Temperatures are going to fall as the day goes on, so I'd better bring layers. It's shopping and errand day today ... we don't need much this week so it should be quick. Have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon almost evening all. The day started early, I had to have youngest daughter at the surgeons office by 8 a.m. she has a bad case of carpal tunnel in her right arm so tests and plans were made. She will have the surgery either the 2nd or 7th, depending on her work schedule. Didn't leave there until after 1 p.m.....stopped to pick up lunch to bring home. Now I am very ready for an adult beverage.....it is 5 p.m. somewhere in the world so I am changing my clocks.

The Bobcat was removed from my yard this afternoon, tomorrow morning will be spent loosening soil, sprinkling the assorted wildflower seeds on the ground and covering it with mulch. Then probably going to get more mulch, I don't think 10 bags will be enough. Randy made me some No Parking signs for the area and I am going to pickup some of the yellow 'Do Not Enter' tape to string between the trees so it won't happen again.

Good Friday morning all. Currently 3°C and overcast. No school today, and so we are spending our day shopping and with my eldest (now living on her own) for an early birthday celebration. It should be a fun day :)

Good morning all. It's a blustery day out there, wind is from the north about 25 mph with gusts around 30 mph. Temp should start falling this afternoon and be in the mid-30's by tomorrow morning and a chance of even colder by next weekend. Time to get my new plant haven (youngest daughters former bedroom) ready to accommodate seasonal guests. At least with them actually in the house I won't have to keep lights on them for warmth and they will be in front of a west facing window that will give them some light. But when I do start seeds in January I will have some lights for them.

Also time to turn off the ceiling fans , it's a little nippy with them running now.

Good Saturday afternoon all. Currently 2°c and overcast. With the wind, it feels a lot cooler. Had a busy morning with skating, housework and some laundry. Then I volunteered to type up a 14 page document for the Skating Club that ended up taking 4.5 hours! Done now, ready for an adult beverage. Hope everyone is having a great day :)

Good morning all! The sun is shining bright now for the first time in a few days. It is very cold but not quite sub-zero stuff yet. My sister is moving back home from Australia on Wednesday so I'm counting down the days. It will be so great to have her and her family back in Ireland permanently, no more airport goodbyes!
    Have a wonderful Sunday all!

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 0°C and snowing. Yes snowing. I guess I shouldn't be surprised as it's November 22nd, but the weather has been so great that I just haven't been thinking about snow! I have yet to put my Roses to bed!
Cleaning house today, it sure is a mess in here! (Takes a snow storm to keep this gardener inside to clean house!) Have a great day all :)
