Good morning. Not even chilly this morning, temp is 50 and rising but there is supposed to be a front moving through around noon today and maybe bring rain....at least according to the radar there is some heading our way but it is also on a more northerly course than easterly so it could miss me completely.

Not sure what I will be doing today, without gardening my days are typically do what strikes my fancy each day....sometimes that is really interesting and sometimes after years of making to-do lists and marking things off as I get them done, it's a little disconcerting. Guess I could go ahead and make weekly lists again even if most of the entries would be "do whatever comes to mind" "do whatever comes to mind". :whistling:

It got up to 25 degrees here today. I saw that on the weather channel. We didn't go out today. It was gray and cloudy and damp. There were a few flurries this morning but they didn't stick to anything. I used to have to do lists but now I just have a list of things to buy if we stop at a store when we are out riding the bus. If we get a few things every day when we go out we don't have big shopping days. Our son helps if it's too big to carry on the buses. dooley

Good morning all! Our power in the area went out a few times yesterday evening. I have no idea why as the weather wasn't that bad. Maybe routine maintenance that was botched? The good thing about smartphone is that they normally have nice torches built in and they are nearly always on hand if the power goes out :)
    Enjoy your Friday ahead all!

Good morning all. Our power used to go out if a large flock of birds flew over the area....old lines, lousy maintenance. But since the power company turned over maintenance to a specialized company that hasn't happened in several years now (knock wood).

We did get rain yesterday but less than 1/2 inch, sunny and chilly this morning. Some areas of Texas got snow but not me.

Good Saturday morning all. Just finished watching the only gardening program on our PBS station ....Growing a Greener World with Joe Lamp'l. Later will be http://thedaytripper.com/ then https://www.youtube.com/user/TexasParksWildlife then www.pilotguides.com/tv-shows/globe-trekker/ but mostly it's cooking shows on PBS on Saturdays.

When Randy gets back home later this morning we will be working paneling on the living room wall.....finally. And later taking our youngest out to dinner, she has been cooped up with her healing hand all week and I think 'stir crazy' is starting to take hold of her.

Good Saturday afternoon all. Currently -10°C and sunny. We were at skating this morning, as well as yesterday morning, and we will be at a competition tomorrow. So today, I am trying to catch up on my housework, laundry and cooking. I am also puppy sitting today, although it's difficult for me to keep calling him a puppy... He is now just over 5 months old and 65 pounds at last check! The cat is getting braver now and they touch noses for a minute before she hisses at him. Have a great day all :)

Good Monday morning all. Currently -1°C and overcast. A great day at the skating competition yesterday - my daughter pulled off 3 gold performances and she was one happy girl! It was a very LONG day though, and we are all dragging our butts around today. I have some housework to catch up on, and a bit of cooking to use up the veggies in the fridge. Also need a trip into the store to pick up a few things. Have a great day all :)

Please congratulate your daughter for all of us--three golds, wow:setf_016:!
It's 60 now, and promising warmer, so I'm going to finally be able to get into the last vegetable garden and start removing the tomato trellises. With luck we'll get that garden tilled this week, and then I can think about planting the cool season veggies.

Good morning everyone. It is 22 F. here and lots of sun! Nothing much going on today. Have some sewing to catch up on this afternoon. Making my brother a little Kizoa video for his birthday. Quit mailing cards since postage is so high. The videos are fun anyways. Netty, Congratulations to your daughter on her gold winnings!:setc_005: Have a great day to all.

Nothing but clear skies and warmer weather coming, we had to turn on the window AC in the bedroom last night to keep comfy. Supposed to be close to 80 by Saturday....booooo hissss.

It's been seasonally warm here in Wisconsin, too. It was 39 today. A lot of snow melted and there were puddles everywhere and the sidewalks and roads were wet. There is supposed to be a wintry mix tonight and tomorrow, up to 3 inches. But, it did show temps in the 30's all week so maybe it won't stay on the ground too long. We have only had that one big storm at the end of last year. It was 12 inches and it was shoveled into big piles along the roads and parking lots so it will take awhile for it to leave us.
But, no 80's here so it will stay a bit longer. dooley

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 1°C and overcast. Temperatures are going up to 6°C today, with rain and strong winds. Then the temperature will drop and everything will be a sheet of ice. I'm cooking a big turkey dinner today, and my daughter and SIL are coming over. No special occasion, other than finding a great deal on a turkey! Have a great day all :)

Hello everyone! Hope the new year is treating you all well.
I'm still stuck in "hibernation" mode... dang weather is almost always dreary and wet. And the sunny days seem to be only when I'm at work! So nothing happening in the garden.... except weeds. One of these days I'll actually be able to get out there and play (without hip-waders on).

Good late afternoon all. I was going to greet the day in a calm manner but my daughter's surgeon's office called and asked her to come in earlier than her scheduled 3 pm. appointment to have her hand checked and re-bandaged since the Dr. had a family emergency to see to this afternoon. So I took my morning wake-up coffee with me and we headed down there. Her hand is healing very well, she goes back in two weeks and will start P.T. in Feb to get it back to working properly.

Chilly and cloudy today but I haven't seen much of it from the outside, just through car and building windows. Thurs through Sunday I will be up close and personal with the garden again....I have got to cut back perennials even though most of them haven't gone completely dormant yet. Time to do the rose bush pruning too since I will be transplanting three of them sometime next month.
