Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -7°C and overcast. I sure would like to see some sunshine one day!
We had a great family dinner last night ... turkey dinner with all the regular fixings and Lemon meringue pie for dessert. Early to bed after that and finally feeling well rested after our busy weekend. Keeping our fingers crossed that the arena is able to fix the Zamboni today, or I am going to have one sad little skater here this evening. I'll be sad too, as it's also MY skating night! Cleaning to do today, and turkey stock is cooking on the stove. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. The birds at the front feeders are driving poor Wizard crazy, all that action and his little head never stops moving...gotta see them all. One little Wren flew up close to the window and he started batting the glass trying to get it. The Red-wing Blackbirds are back in droves so there is a lot of activity out there about twice a day when it's my yards turn to host the bird feeder olympics.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -2°C and overcast. I'm a little stiff from my skate last night ... coach has been testing my skills, and I'll a little old for that LOL
Off to do my errands and shopping this morning, and maybe wash my car and stop at the second hand store. I go every few weeks looking for canning jars.
Have a great day all :)

Good Friday morning all! Currently -8°C and overcast with strong winds and passing snow squalls. Scored big at the second hand store yesterday, finding 2 cases of wide mouth quart jars for sale! I quickly snatched them up, and was so pleased that I didn't look at anything else haha Picking up my son for the weekend today - he hasn't been home since Christmas break ended so I'm excited to see him. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Yesterday was Randy's dads 82nd birthday so we are heading down today to take him a cake and our presence. Will be back tonight.

Good afternoon all! Terrible weather here with heavy wind last night. Promised unsettled at least until Sunday and knowing our luck probably afterwards as well. Lots of stomach bugs going around there days also. My sister, niece and BIL have it and my brother and SIL had it a week back also. Will try to avoid it if I can!
    Have a top Friday all!

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 0°C and overcast. Cleaning house today, and doing the laundry. What a glamorous life I have!
I look forward to sleeping in tomorrow, as it is my only day to sleep in. I know something will happen - dog will need out, or the phone will ring, but at least there is no pressure to get up.
Can you tell I'm worn out today? haha Have a great day all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 3°C and overcast. I slept in this morning! :)
I daughter gave me a new can of paint she didn't want, and so I spent the afternoon and early evening painting my 'craft room'. I have to go upstairs and see how the color looks in the daylight and make sure I like it. If I do, I will clean the windows, wash the floors and start moving in my sewing stuff etc No idea how I want to set it all up until I have everything up there.
But first, I have to take my son grocery shopping and back to school. Have a great day all :)

Good afternoon all! We only started naming storms officially a few months back but we are already up to the letter H  Storm Henry is affecting the country at the moment and the gusts are very strong at times. So far no damage but some homes are without power. Hard to believe it is February already!
    Have a top Monday all!

Good Monday morning all. Currently 1°C and sunny, with strong winds. It rained most of the night and all but a few pockets of snow is gone. If it wasn't so wet out I would take a walk around the yard and have a look at the gardens. I've got some cooking to do this morning, and then I'm going to go upstairs and put another coat of paint on the craft room walls. Skating tonight, so it's going to be a busy day! Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. I spent about 3 hours out in the back yard yesterday....pulling some weeds, cutting to the ground those that won't come up, spreading cardboard over that area and hauling buckets of mulch to cover the cardboard. Today I can barely stand up straight and am moving slow....first garden work I have done in 3-4 months....OUCH!!

Today I will be knitting, the yarn for the Dr. Who scarf I am making our niece arrived late last week so I will be working on that. It's for her birthday in August, it's 9 feet long (which is a short version of what Dr. Who wore) so it could take a while.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -1°C and overcast. We are getting a rain/freezing rain event tonight with strong winds, and so I will spend part of today bringing in firewood and checking supplies. This type of storm during the winter usually results in trees down and power outages.
Toni, you lucky gal! How I wish I could spend 3 hours out in the garden! I feel your pain, but somehow I always count that as a good kind of pain! I usually end up the same way in the spring when I find all the muscles I forgot about over the winter months. You can rest a little while knitting today, and you'll be as good as new tomorrow :)
    Have a great day all!

Toni, I ache for you, and I also ache! Yesterday was planting turnips and cleaning out most of the asparagus bed, and today is cleaning the rest of the bed. I'll plant carrots and spinach if I can still bend over (and straighten up).
Husband is off to get a haircut (remember the time he went for a haircut and came home with a pizza, a rifle, wine, and a trimmed head?) so who knows what this day may bring.:smt100

Jane, at least he brought home pizza and wine for dinner instead of having plans to use the rifle to bring supper home for you to process.

Good morning all. Well a miracle happened yesterday....I had to make a Drs. appointment for med check before scripts run out at the end of February....yeah, I forgot to plan further ahead. I expected to get the appointment for late Feb maybe not even until early March and they would have to approve a temp refill before then, but low and behold!! there was an appointment available yesterday at 2:15. That almost never happens with Doctors schedules in the city, maybe in a small town but not here. And yet another miracle happened at the appointment .....I was in the building, early as usual for appointments of any kind, in the exam room on time, had a nice long visit and still back home about 2 hours later. Of course in the city an hour of that time was the 30 minute trips each way. The only trauma about the appointment was having to get on the scale....but even that was a surprise, I have lost 8 pounds since my visit in March of last year.

I am now 3.4 feet into making a 9 foot long Dr. Who scarf....the original was said to be 24 feet long when first made, not sure I could get one that long made before our nieces birthday in August.

It's still winter and maybe the chance of the ground hog seeing his shadow is going to diminish soon. It has started snowing. There is heavy snow forecast for today and tomorrow and light snow the rest of the week. Today the snow will be accompanied with wind from 25 to 40 miles per hour. The amount changes with location but it says from 6 to 11 inches by tomorrow morning and maybe more before it stops tomorrow.
We went out early this morning to get milk and bread and stuff because we walk or ride the bus now and don't know when we will get out again. Of course, we could call our son if we really need something but would hate to ask him to come out in this weather after he works all day. Hopefully the weather men are predicting on the high side. dooley
