Good morning all. Started this day with no internet again but this time it was because a new FiOS line was being buried across the backyard. Scary thought, them having to dig through all that jungle, but I guess they have seen worse. But now it's buried and we are back up to speed.

Overcast with rain moving in supposedly later today and hanging around for the rest of the week. Rain is a good thing this year, we've had only 3 inches since November and the drought area is creeping closer and closer to us again.

We had drizzle this morning, and very high winds. I didn't put the seedlings in the barn outside to harden--I was afraid they would be blown away! Since the wind was so strong, I decided to stay inside and bake dinner rolls.
I need to get another row of squash planted, and to finish tidying the last flower bed, but not today.

The sun was shining today and it got up to 60 degrees. I didn't wear my coat when we went out, just a long sleeve cotton shirt. We went out and had breakfast and then we went downtown on the bus since it was so nice. We stopped and had a sandwich before we came home so I didn't have to cook today. I did do some sewing. Easter bags for Children. I only have one of them left to sew. Since I gave one away at the bus depot downtown I only have the two left. Then, I'll sew other patterned material. dooley

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 4°C and overcast. On my dog walk, I could hear water flowing, birds singing, woodpeckers ... it sounded like spring! And it sure was nice not to have to wear big boots and a bulky coat ... I went in rain boots and a light jacket! Today's expected high is 12°C, could it really mean spring is on its way? Some cleanup to do today, and maybe I'll be able to get into the shed for a few pots and seed trays :)

Good muggy morning all. Storms moving our way, the ones west of us last night produced at least one tornado....7 homes destroyed and several cars damaged but I haven't heard of serious injuries.
Supposed to be up to 6 inches of rain in places before this is over by the weekend.

Toni, I just checked the Dallas Morning News, and reports of tornadoes and tornado warnings were in the area. I do hope you are safe!
Life was so much less worrisome before the 'net. Now I have people I'm fond of all over the globe, and I worry about their safety, health, and gardens.
We were without electricity for about two hours this morning, which rather crimped my plans to bake focaccia bread, but as you can see, we are back on the grid (at least temporarily) so I'll get going in the kitchen. It's too wet and windy to do anything outside. Even the chickens are staying inside!

There were tornado warnings last night in the area but nothing this morning. I think the closest was south of Granbury and that's about 1.5 hours south of me. That area does get hit more often in recent years.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 13°C with sun and cloud. The warm temperatures are wonderful, but the snow has melted quickly and so there are puddles and mud everywhere. The sun should dry it out a little, but we are expecting heavy rain tomorrow. I would still prefer rain to snow anyday! Ordered some seeds yesterday from Heritage Harvest Seed Co in Manitoba ... I have never ordered from them before. They had 2 kinds of heritage tomatoes that sounded interesting. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Not sure what I keep doing to p***-off the rain gods but evidently I am doing it again cause my garden has received less than half of what other CoCoRaHS weather reporters are getting in the county.:suspicious:

I have more seeds to get started, I am not good at watching the notes on my calender as to when they should be started so I am a bit late on some but with our weather warming up very quickly this Spring it really won't matter if I start them inside or out.

Afternoon all. Cloudy and a bit rainy here today. Change from yesterday when it was sunny and 70º! 66º today, but still :p

This morning I vacuumed the whole bedroom, even under the bed (had to move that sucker...king size memory foam beds are heavy! lol), swept the bathroom and changed the trash, bathed the senior dog and have a load of laundry in the wash.
Never did eat breakfast. Should probably do something about that :p

Good morning all. A little more rain in my garden overnight, nothing to write home about like some areas but my plants are thrilled with the 2 inches they have gotten since Tuesday. Might be more through Saturday but after that it dries up and climbs into the 80s.

Got all three Dr. Who scarves finished yesterday, just have to re-tie joining knots and weave in the yarn ends. The left over yarn plus another skein of one of the colors and I will have enough for a pair of tube socks for each of them to go with the scarves.

Good Friday morning all. Currently 0°C and overcast. I've got my youngest home as March Break begins today! Not sure what we are going to do today, I'm thinking I should put her to work around the house ;) Have a great day all :)

One things for sure I aint watering today. The rain train has been going for a couple days now. There is lots of local flooding sadly but so far we are safe on our lil hill just very soggy.

Oh cappy, I know what you mean! We too are safe on our little hill, but there has been drastic flooding all around us. We have standing water in the garden paths, and the hens are in the second coop which is higher--the regular coop flooded. Nothing is as entertaining as wading ankle deep water in a coop at 7 a.m., trying to get sleepy chickens off their roosts and into the dry coop.
Since there was nothing to be done outside today with the constant mist and fog, I baked bread, cleaned house, and hoped for a sunny day tomorrow!

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 1°C and sunny. I had a lovely sunrise dog walk this morning, the birds were singing, it's going to be a beautiful day! Sadly, I will be inside at the skating arena most of the day today. Dear daughter has a lesson and then test day. I do hope we are able to enjoy the afternoon outside! Have a great day all :)
