Sadly, there are no blooms here.
Good morning all. Currently just 2°c and overcast. We had rain, winds, sleet, hail, thunder and lightening yesterday. Today, weatherman calls for the same. I am off to do my errands and shopping, and then home to repot a few houseplants. Have a great day all :)

Good Friday morning all. Currently 1°C and snowing. Yes, snowing. Mother Nature is playing a cruel game with us. After 2 weeks of above average temperatures, we have snow falling and are expecting a low of -10°c overnight. Not sure if I should be putting pots over those plants that have already started growing in the garden? No plans yet today, it's the last day of March break so I'm sure my daughter will make us some! Have a great day all :)

Good afternoon all. Woke up with a sore muscle, just one but it was one of the muscles that helps you walk standing up straight. It took a good rub of Blue-Emu to make it feel better...not advertising but that stuff has been great for me...5 Arnica pellets under the tongue helps too.

Took youngest to her physical therapy this morning and then to breakfast where they got the order exactly the way we ordered it. We are two of "those customers" who make changes from the way a item is offered on the menu...so I tip well.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -5°C and sunny. For some reason I decided to look into my mailbox and the end of our driveway this morning. Lo and behold, there was my heirloom vegetable seed order - mailman forgot to raise the flag and so my seeds sat out there all night in -7°C temperatures! I immediately tucked them under my coat into the warmth of my armpit ... gosh I sure hope they grow! It's still a little too early to plant tomatoes here, but I'm wondering if I should plant a few just to make sure they are still good? I don't want to find out they were frozen and damaged too late to order new ones. Some laundry and cleanup today, and hopefully a chance to get outside later for some raking. Have a great day all :)

Netty, your seeds should be just fine. If you want to test their viability, you can take a few, place them on a damp paper towel, and put the towel in a sealed plastic bag. They should germinate in the normal time for that seed, or a day or two longer.
We have high winds today so my seedlings are spending time in the barn. Since I can't do any yard work I'm indulging in some recreational cooking. Chicken vegetable soup is simmering on the stove, and I'm waiting for the toasted pecans to cool. A diabetic friend misses out on all the chocolate Easter treats, so I'm giving her spiced roasted pecans, which she can have. I'll tell her the Easter bunny climbed a pecan tree to get them for her!

Good morning. Winter temps are giving us a reminder of what we have missed for most of this season. Last Monday the high was 89....today we might reach 60 with a low last night of 40. It's really windy with a wind chill of 37 this morning.

Tomorrow is the Vernal Equinox (Oestara to some), it's the mid-point of Spring for some, but many places consider it the first day of Spring. Down here it's more accurate to say it's the mid-point of Spring since our summer temps arrive in May, making that the beginning of summer not really part of the spring season. But either way, did you know you have just as much luck balancing an egg on it's end on any day of the year you choose.

I picked like 80 lbs of plums yesterday, and celebrated by drinking a few glasses of plum wine. By 9pm I was nodding off and at 3:30 this morning wide awake. Trying to figure if this is a good thing or not since aint nothing to do this early I am thinking not. Peggy is still sleeping and I can't do anything I don't want to wake her.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -7°C and sunny. Happy Spring all! :) I have been enjoying these spring like days, but just noticed the long range weather forecast for my area calls for 15cm of snow on Thursday! I sure hope that doesn't happen! I'm going to continue my yard cleanup and hope for the best. Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -4°C and overcast. I love how the days are getting longer! Spring is here, only winter will be making another appearance this week. Heading out today to get some more vegetables, meet with my boss for the coming season, and then home to bring in some firewood. I do hope this 'winter' storm doesn't last long ... I have gardening to do! ;)
