Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 3°c and overcast. We have a little snow on the ground this morning, but at 3 degrees it should melt soon. Another snow storm expected to hit tonight, a more serious storm bringing lots of snow and freezing rain. My daughter has already decided that tomorrow will be a snow day! I have a dentist appointment this morning, and then home to start some spring cleaning. I am usually almost done, but I just haven't been motivated yet. Have a great day all :)

Good afternoon all. Very windy, warm at 72 and supposed to get even warmer later today....around 84. Been out in the backyard potting, weeding, moving (slowly) some doo-dads around for looks.
And realizing that since we are back in the 'rain in the area but not on my yard' weather mode, I need to get the new, shorter, hose end watering wand hooked up and start using it.

Happy Wednesday everyone! I mowed the back yard (has it gotten bigger this year?) while husband mowed the paths to the pond. I'll be planting the next batch of spinach this afternoon, and finishing cultivating the seasonal garden (gave up yesterday due to high winds.)

I don't think I'd even be doing any planting if I had somewhere to plant anything. It's snowing big time out there with an accumulation of 6 to 14 inches by the time it stops tomorrow afternoon. Isn't spring wonderful! dooley

Morning all. Currently 59° and cloudy. Off and on rain through the day. Have a chiropractor appt in a few hours. When i get home, I'll try to do a bit of spring cleaning. With 2 dogs and 3 cats, the carpet gets nasty pretty quickly. K would love to replace it, if he does, he'll get the best scotch guard protection possible lol

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -4°C and overcast. It's a 'snow day' for the kids today all over southern Ontario. Not for the snow, but for the freezing rain that was supposed to happen. I think I'll be heading out for my regular Thursday shopping and errand day anyway, as it seemed OK when I walked the dog this morning. Have a great day all :)

Good afternoon all! Just back from a trip to the dentist for a filling. One more filling left and then I'm done for a while (I hope!). Weather has started to turn a small bit wet again after a pretty good period. Hope it doesn't rightly break down again.
    Have a top Thursday all!

Went into town for my usual Thursday shopping/visiting and nearly got blown off the road with these winds. Had a good gossip at the hair salon where I take eggs each week--rumor has it that we're possibly getting a new barbecue restaurant in town, yippee! At the hardware store there was a Sicilian oregano that mentioned it wanted to come home with me, so it did. Just what I need, another herb!
This afternoon making knot rolls (bread rolls shaped in a knot ) for Easter dinner.

Good Friday morning all (Literally! It's Good Friday!) The ice storm expected Wednesday night made it appearance last night. We are so lucky to still have power here, as many have been without all night. The freezing rain has left a thick layer of ice on everything, bringing trees and power lines down. As I walked the dog down the icy road this morning, the wind was picking up and I could hear trees cracking from the stress. I lost my millennium maple, or at least a large portion of it from the weight of the ice. :smt085 I took pictures, but my internet connection is so slow right now I can't upload any pictures. I am just glad I have a connection today. I heard they are way worse off west of here.

Netty, sorry to hear about the tree, glad the power is still on and so very glad you all are okay.

Beautiful Friday here so we went to the garden center of course....I needed more soil and just a few plants and some cat grass seeds. Wizard love that stuff I want to have plenty of seeds to keep his habit satisfied.

It was sunny here today and up to 40 degrees. It's supposed to be in the 40's and up all this coming week. We got 5 inches of snow it the "blizzard" this week. It fizzled out before it did any damage, even to the north of us. It's already started melting. It should be gone in just a few days. dooley

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -7°C and overcast. A thick coat of ice remains of everything this morning, but at least the wind has stopped. Today's high is expected to reach 8°C and so the meltdown will begin. We don't dare try to cut up the fallen tree until the ice is gone from the standing portion of the tree, for fears of it coming down on us. We have a lot of clean up to do outside, but today we are having an early family Easter lunch. SIL works nights all weekend, and my son has to go back to school tomorrow, so today's lunch will actually be a full out turkey dinner. We will have it eaten, and SIL will have time for a bit of sleep before he has to leave for work at 5. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. A little chilly earlier this morning but should be flirting with the 70s by later today.
Not totally sure but I think I will be spending most of today in the back room getting my part of it organized and useful.

Good Sunday morning all, and Happy Easter :)
We had a lovely Easter lunch yesterday. Late in the day, the sun came out and began to melt all the ice off the trees. The sounds outside were incredible ... the power of nature.
Now that the ice is melted we should be able to get out and start cutting the tree that came down. At some point today I have to drive my son back to school as well. Should be a very busy day :)

Good Easter Monday morning all. Currently 7°C and raining. It was a beautiful day yesterday, and I over worked myself so I am glad to have a rainy day to recuperate. I finally got my tomato seeds planted yesterday,3 heritage types I ordered. I thought I would embrace my German Heritage and ordered 'Blondkopfchen' and 'German Red Strawberry' as well as 'purple plum' tomatoes. These are the seeds that sat in my mailbox overnight in -8°C weather, so I hope they grow. Clean up today, and maybe start my windows too. This job I hate, but do without fail each spring because I hate looking through dirty windows even more! Have a great day :)
