Well, this is the day that is named after me--April Fool's Day! I'm enjoying it by cleaning house. I had hoped to get the second planting of cucumbers in today, but it's raining so planting will have to wait. I can't complain--after reading Netty's and Chrisle's posts, maybe rain with temps in the high 50s isn't so bad!

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -1°C and mostly cloudy. No snow yet, but the wind is cold! Off for a day at the arena for the final show ... kind of sad when it all ends. BUT spring skate starts next week at another arena. One good thing about the end of skating season - it means that spring is here and its time to garden! As a friend said the other day ... time to hang up the skates and pull out the rakes! Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Sunny but a little chilly this morning but this afternoon will be perfect for playing in the back yard. I have plans for a new area that I want to get started on....course that means I will probably neglect getting another area finished but what's life without several half finished projects o_O

More white sticky rain here today. The bus driver told it that it's called spring rain here in Wisconsin. We have about three inches of it now. It's warm enough that it melts on the street and sidewalks. Rain for the next two or three days with out the white stuff so it should be clear again in a few days. No big piles to contend with now.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -8°C with strong north winds and sunshine. We have a dusting of snow from overnight, and 2 more days of cold weather before it starts to warm up.
I am SO ready for spring! Lots of laundry and clean up to do today, and then maybe I'll plant a few more seeds. Have a great day all :)

Sitting here looking at the frozen ground and so looking forward to spring weather...... no wait, I'll bypass spring I want summer! Made a coconut cream pie this morning and have a turkey in the oven. The smells are wonderful. I'll pretend it's Christmas:D The weather suits it well. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning all. Today starts the process of getting about two dozen plants in the ground or pots. I think I over bought at the garden center this weekend....we had to make about 4 trips for Randy to get the parts for repairing the bathroom sink plumbing (the plumbing they used in building the houses in our development came from south of the border and are not compatible in sizing with what's sold in this country) so each time we went I wandered through the garden center and each time I found plants
And the order I had placed with Growers Exchange (yes I was weak and ordered plants after all, hey they were giving away a free plant for their birthday so I mean they almost twisted my arm so I had to order something from them) came on Friday so they have to be planted.

Good morning! I spent the morning planting 28 tomato plants and prepping the area for the bell peppers to go in. I still have seven cherry tomatoes to put in, but where?
Three loads of laundry are on the line and will need folding and putting away, and then I'll need putting away!

It wasn't too warm here this morning. Only 25F degrees. It was sunny most of the time and there were a few flurries of snow floating around. Nothing was sticking to anything though. We went to the Senior Center and traded our books. They have a section with a large book area and you can take books for free and just bring them or others back to replace the ones that you "borrowed." Generally we buy books at the thrift shops and then take them to the Senior Center when we get too many for our book shelf. dooley

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -6°C and sunny. Checked on my re-planted Zinnia seedlings just now, and they look great! That cat is lucky! We still have snow on the ground, so today I will spend part of my day re-potting house plants, sorting and planting seeds. Yesterday I opened a fresh bag of potting soil, only to discover that it was infested with fungus gnats and larva! I was NOT impressed! Threw the bag out the back door and it has been outside in the -10°C air all night. Do you think they will be killed off by the cold? I have one more bag to open ... I hope it is insect free. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. I will do some piddling around in the garden later today, I think I over did it yesterday and could hardly get out of bed this morning. I would just sit and knit but I do have to move around some to keep from freezing up completely.
Not sure how much a concrete footing weighs but after picking up the first one and moving it to a new location I decided to roll the other two into place.

Good afternoon everyone. We've been having gorgeous weather. I've gotten about half of the gardens cleaned up. I have plants ready to go in the ground (hopefully this evening). Will be going on a plant shopping excursion on Friday, so I better get busy!

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -2°C and overcast. I am really sick of cold and snow ... I just want spring weather NOW! I went to the library yesterday, it was the first time in 2 years! Lots to read today so I'm going to have a lazy day. Or at least try to :)

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 4°C and overcast. The snow that fell the past few days has been mostly melted by the rain and warm temperatures overnight. The only problem is that more snow is expected tomorrow! I'm off to do my errands and shopping, have a great day all :)
