Good Friday morning all. Currently 8 degrees and raining. We needed rain badly, and Thursday nights are perfect as it saves me a lot of work on Fridays. Glad the weekend is finally here ... we get to go see the puppies this weekend! Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. What a worry some night was last night.
Our grandson had packed up his stuff to move from the college dorm at the University of Houston back to his Mom's place. He got about an hour outside of Houston (about 8 p.m.) when the car's engine died, on the highway, leaving him with no brakes or steering. The result is the car is totaled (old car, didn't take much to total it) but Austin only has some bumps and bruises. No other cars involved but when his car left the road it stopped a very few feet from a light pole that could have been deadly.
Randy drove down there to get him and they got home about 3:30 a.m. He and his girl friends dad had just put a new alternator on the car and it was running fine, don't know what happened. If we want to do a post-mortem on the car it will mean driving to Huntsville, paying their tow charge of $350 and then having it towed home....I think Huntsville just inherited a new wrecked car. They had named the car Nigel (the letters on his license plate were NGL) and Nigel did a good job of keeping him safe in his last act as a working vehicle.

Holy smokes Toni, someone was watching over him from above! So glad he is OK!
Good Saturday morning all. Currently 6 degrees and raining. Youngest daughter is running a 5km race today, her first and last, as this is for school. (Don't even get me started about why they need to run this far for a public school gym class) But the fun comes this afternoon when we will finally be able to go see our puppy!! Have a great day all :)

Good afternoon all. Had a tiny bit of rain last night, mostly thunder and lightning. A tad cooler today than the last few days but too chilly and windy this morning for me to venture outside....but seems to be turning into a really good gardening day. Now I just have to get motivated to get out there.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently just 2°C with overcast skies and strong winds. It was a bitter night as well, with rain, gale force winds and even snow! Yesterday I saw blooms on my pear trees for the first time ever and so I am scared to check them today ... the cold and wind may have taken care of them. Daughter ran her 5km race in 33 minutes yesterday, and then we were off to see the puppies! Can't bring our puppy home until mid-late June, but it was nice to see them. Indoor projects today, weather will improve tomorrow. Have a great day all :)

Good monday morning all. Currently just 2 degrees and overcast with winds. The weekend weather was absolutely horrible, with cold winds, snow and hail. I do hope everything at work survived the weather! A busy day ahead, and then skating tonight with my daughter. Hopefully the weather improves. Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. A little frosty out this morning, I sure hope this is the last time! Tomorrow is our 'regular' last frost date. We have been picking up composted duck manure for the veggie gardens at work by the truckload. Today we will get another load and hopefully get the strawberries planted. Have a great day all :)

Wow what a busy week or so it's been.

It's beautiful out and I'm only working an 8 hour day today. Have gotten lots done in the garden and beds recently. I'll post updates when I'm on break.

Good morning all. No rain in my area, must have been a flock of birds hovering over the rain gauge though there was a whoppin' .02 inches in it this morning. And it appears that summer temps are finally beginning to arrive, we have some close to 90 deg temps coming later in the week.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 2 degrees and sunny. I really hope this is the last frosty morning!
Starting to sound like a broken record ... off to another busy day at work and then to skating with my youngest. Have a great day all :)

Good Friday morning all. Currently 10 degrees C and clear. Was up bright and early to pick the Asparagus and check the gardens. Excited to get planting today! But first, a day of planting at work, and then a stop at my favorite greenhouse. Have a great day all :)

Good afternoon all! We had a lovely spell of hot weather last week but what's happened now? That's right... back to heavy rain :setc_032: This year may end up a wash-out.
Have a top Friday all! :stew1:

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 12°C and overcast. Lots to do today! The weather is finally co-operating and so it is time to plant the rest of the gardens! I need to take a quick trip out to the garden center to pick up a few things that were forgotten, then its home to play in the gardens for the day! Have a great day all :)
