Well we finally got the much needed rain. Too late for much of the garden. June was a very dry month so I will just have to make the best of what garden I have left. Cloudy and cool today. It will be a housecleaning day. Too wet for gardens. Have a great day all.

Two days ago I bought an orange day lily (half price sale at the local garden shop) to plant and a coral bells to put into a pot I'm moving a rosemary out of - BUT - I'm noticing a pattern this year that soon as I buy a plant it pours rain! Couple days of sun would be nice so I can get everything outside and growing.

Being a Saturday we rode the bus downtown to the Farmer's Market. It runs for several blocks down Main Street through the center of town. It was fairly crowded today. It was a bright, sunny day with temperatures in 80's. There was a slight breeze so I thought it was just right but a lot of people thought it was hot by the time we left and it was just 11 am. We went and had lunch and then stopped and bought fruit at the store. I guess it's still a bit early to have much fruit at the market. I did see some strawberries though. I might make a stir fry for supper. Crimini mushrooms, snow peas, vadilia onions, sweet corn, yellow summer squash, zucchini and whatever other vegetables I can find that I've forgotten about right now. With all the vegetables I wonder if I will even need to make rice. Well, I'll just think about it. dooley

Good evening all. For most of today it was very hot and dry but at some point this afternoon rain clouds moved over and evidently gave us some rain and much cooler temps for a while....I say evidently because I fell asleep in my chair and Randy told me about it later. Darn, I do not like to sleep through any rain event!!!! Not much rain here after all, but the cooler temps are really nice.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 16°C and cloudy. A rough night for me ... puppy wall full of energy most of the night. I must remember to keep him up all afternoon.
Had a good day in the garden yesterday after the rain. I pulled all the dead annuals and weeded, and added a few new things to fill some gaps. Also found some volunteers and moved them around. I am feeling good about the flower garden for the first time in a long time! I am optimistic for rain this week! Today, laundry and housework. Have a great day all :)

Good Monday morning all. Currently 12°C and cloudy. I am already noticing the darker mornings, and that makes me sad. Out with the puppy this morning for a long walk, he is just waking up when it is time for me to leave. That means he is left with Hubby at 5:30 am in a wild state. Good thing Hubby doesn't sleep much! DD will be up at 7:30 to take over puppy sitting. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Hot and dry, the 7/100ths of an inch we got the other day is just a quickly fading memory. I am already making notes of plants that need to be replaced with something more waterwise, I thought I had those sorted out last fall and spring but now some of the older plants are suffering.

Sun (so far) but weather here can change minute to minute. Hope it stays bright and dry today. :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 15°C and cloudy. It's going to be another hot one today, with humidity high and a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
I'll be out still dragging hoses :sulk:
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. The newness and beauty of spring faded long ago, some of the summer blooms are starting and the weeds are doing a certainly making their appearance.
The feels like temps have been and will continue to be in the 100+ range this week and the real temp will join them next week.

Sorry, not done much posting lately. Very little happening in Palustris land. Got a new book coming out soon. Think we have finished proof reading it and now just waiting for a pre-printing copy to look through. Different type too. This one is a children's book for say 8 to 10 year olds. Had fun doing it. Been too wet to do much in the garden.

Dull and overcast here today. Have the Grandkids (twins) coming over to pass the day with me. They always add LOTS of energy to an otherwise dull day.

@Palustris - you wrote a book! Congratulations! :) I always think it takes lots of self discipline to write. (Wish I had it - self discipline that is) Are you self publishing?

@Islandlife. This is the fourth book. They are published on Amazon. There are at least two more in the pipeline. Wish I had the self discipline to write more. (and the time and energy).

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 19°C and clear. Another hot, humid day ahead with another chance of thunderstorms. They always seem to pass me without a drop, so I am not holding my breath. The weeds sure aren't suffering! Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Broken Record Here....hot and dry, hot and dry. Just had a thought, how many even know what the phrase 'broken record' means.
