Good afternoon all. Our weather pattern is still in a 'broken record' state of mind, 100-101. Typically in late August I start doubting my sanity for working so hard in the Fall and Spring, only to have to watch the weeds replace the annuals and some of the perennials in the June through October. But as usual I have already started making plans for some changes to make when the temps cool down to below 85 on a regular basis. I guess I had better be happy with the gardening time I do have since one of these days age is going to grab me from behind and not let me gardening anymore at all.

Thunderstorms forecast and the clouds came in quite black but so far (and it is now early evening) no actual storms have appeared.

Good sunday morning all. Currently 15 degrees and sunny. The humidity is starting to creep back in and by mid week we will be back to super hot and humid ugh. Spent the night with my girls and the puppies, and its almost time to pack up and head home. Lots of housework to do when I get home! Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Just another dry and hot one here....gee I wish I could say I was talking about a good wine and a burger but sadly it is still the weather of which I speak. More of the same all week 102-104 feels like temps climbing up close to 110.
A week from today we will be loading up the back of our truck to help our oldest grandson and his girlfriend move back down to Houston for school....and of course there is a thunderstorm forecast for that day. Guess we will buying a few tarps to protect things, but the action of getting prepared for rain will most likely give the rain goddess a chance to pull a fast one on us and not send the rain at all. Mother Nature loves to play with peoples minds.

Rained last night, no wind and the sun hasn't peeked out yet so hard to say what the day will look like today.

It was a day trip and just fantastic. I worked in that area for over a decade and used to fly and/or drive into the remote villages BUT now that I'm retired this is the first time I took the Uchuck. The day was perfect! ;)

Good Monday morning all. Currently 12°C and clear. Just checked the forecast for the week, and again, it says hot, hazy and humid and no rain. It's a repeat of last week. Again.
Chance of rain on Friday, but I'm sure that will disappear by the time Friday comes. Have a great day all :)

Just picked the last of the squash! I'm happy, my husband is happy, but the food pantry won't be so happy. When I took last week's haul in, the director asked me if I knew how much squash I had brought in. I didn't, so he told me--62 pounds! And each and every one went to someone who was happy to get a fresh vegetable. This has been a poor year for gardens, but at least we had something to share.
Hot and humid here, too, Netty, with prospects of rain over the weekend :fingerscrossed:. Hope we both get wet!

Good morning all. Dry as a bottle of Austrian Grüner Veltliners around here and I do not care for dry wine any more than I do dry weather.
I am knitting as much as I can this month. I have ideas for christmas gifts to get busy making and also using up some of my excess yarn stash to make scarves and hats for the women's shelter residents.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 20°C and clear. Guess what? Another hot and dry day ahead!
Puppy weighed in at 31 lbs yesterday at his 4 month visit. He also caused a ruckus at the vets office by acting like a vicious beast and puffing up. They had to put us in a separate room to calm the place down LOL Off to work, you guessed it , to drag hoses!

Good morning all. Our neighbor is away for her annual month long visit with her mom so I am visiting her dog twice a day to let him out and feed him. He is a large Rottweiler who is really just a big baby boy. He is about 10 years old and usually comes to the fence to have a chat with me when the weather is nicer and we are both outside. She was afraid he wouldn't like me but she doesn't know about our over the fence chats over the years ..... and besides he is a pushover for milk bone dog biscuits.

The first (and only as it turned out sadly ) time we took Spooky to the vet last year he literally climbed the wall of the exam room, it took two vet techs to get him down from his climb almost to the ceiling. Then they sedated him to finish the exam. Not sure how many bandages they each had to use on their scratches.
