Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 15°C and lightly raining. We are getting the tail end of the storm that has dropped all that rain on Louisiana, but thankfully not the amount that they got. We are in desperate need of rain, and hopefully this rain soaks into the ground. I (finally!) planted all my free perennials last night and I know they will be getting watered in well today. Off to work, not sure how long I will last there in the rain. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. If the dribbling rain keeps up we might get a total of 1/2 inch....by the end of the week. We are west of the rain that is training up from the Gulf of Mexico. But at least the temps are only in the 80's so that's really good.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 12°C and clear. Yesterday, we had a full, glorious day of much needed RAIN! Off to work, where there will be no dragging of hoses today! Instead we will spend the day doing weeding and deadheading and some edging. Nice change :)

We had 2 1/2" of rain overnight, and our pond overfloweth! In the last three days we've had 6 1/4". The good news is that the coops are still dry and my pepper plants have revived.

So, Jane, you have been hogging all the rain down there! In the last 3 days my yard has gotten less than 4/10th of an inch and there looks to be very little hope of much more than that today, if any, since what's on the radar is falling apart before it reaches my part of Dallas County.

I spent yesterday catching up on 'Hints' on Ancestry and found some really cool ancestors. My oldest daughter's 2nd great grandfather on her Dad's side was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions at the Battle of Chancellorsville (during the war between the states), Virginia on May 3, 1863.
And somewhere way back, my Dad's side of the family is claiming they are related to Robert the Bruce of Scotland (King Richard I). That will take a lot of digging back since it would be in the 1300's and I am only back to the 1500's in that line.

It is predicted that today will possibly break records for heat.

Good Thursday morning all Currently 13°C and clear. We had another rain shower last night (yay!) and have passed the entire rainfall for June, July and the first part of August in just 3 days here. There is hope for the farmers again, and for my own gardens! Off to work to weed, trim, and deadhead. No watering today :) Have a great day all :)

Good morning everyone. It is 17 C and a beautiful morning. The salty air smells refreshing! We had a rain storm and cleared out the humidity. The rain came too late for the gardens but we need it for the well. Salvaging what I can from the gardens. Making a second batch of chow-chow this morning. The tomatoes are really small so that's a lot of slicing:(. We have started digging potatoes already in the first garden. It is a month too early for digging but since the plants have died down we don't want to leave the potatoes in the ground. They will be smaller this year but still good to use. Well, off to bottle up the chow-chow and after dinner head out to gather potatoes. Have a great day all.:stew2:

Good morning all. Another cloudy and much cooler day than we have had since sometime in May and typically do not have in August...this is more like October weather right now. Will only last as long as the high pressure system in the southeastern part of the states stays there.
Still not enough rain on my garden to matter, the total for the past week is not even half an inch.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 21°C and clear. Have been out for my morning dog walk with the puppy, he is able to walk a lot farther now. Now home, made my juice (beet, carrot, apple, orange, pepper, cucumber, tomato, and lemon) and I am catching up on my computer time. Later, I'm going to do up some tomato sauce to can up. Have a great day all :)
