The Good Day All Thread

Sometimes Mother Nature is so kind! We were cleaning out the remnants of the summer vegetable garden this morning, and I found four bell pepper plants that had survived the torrential rains, followed by six weeks of no rain a'tall. They actually look pretty good, so we left them in, hoping for more bell peppers.
We also have roses in bloom and several perennials in bud or bloom. I didn't expect any of this, but I'm so glad it's happening! Perhaps if we keep up with the lower temperatures and occasional rains, we'll have a good fall garden.

 

Good Monday morning all. Currently 12°C and sunny. There was fog this morning, but the sun has since burned it off. Hard to believe this is the last day of summer vacation! Tomorrow, life around here will get back to 'normal'. 2 more months and I will be finished my garden work and back home for a while. Off to buy some fresh buns for school lunches. Good Monday morning everyone. Sunny but cool this morning. Busy today harvesting potatoes. I love watching them roll out of the ground! We've hauled out over 400 pounds so far. Likely about one hundred pounds left. Not a great year for gardening. But we have plenty potatoes for us and for seed next year and some to give to less fortunate. Pulling tomato stakes to today so off to do that. Have a great day!

 

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 22°C feeling more like 28°C with the humidity. Environment Canada has already issued a heat advisory for my area for the next 2 days. I thought we were done with the heat for the season!! DD is off to school today, first day of grade 8. I will be home from work before she gets home, so I will have to take my ceremonial 'first day of school' photo then. I'm off to work, for what will surely be another day of dragging hoses. Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 23°C with light rain falling. Its gonna be another scorcher today, and there is a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm. We need rain.
DD survived her first day of school, and the house survived the first day of the puppy on his own. Although puppy did escape from his enclosure, and other than a spilled plant and poop by the door he didn't damage anything. Hoping to keep him secured better today. Have a great day all

@toni - Good that you got it in time My dad passed from colon cancer.
I had the type of polyps that turn into cancer but luckily they were all discovered and removed. I went through yearly checks for about 10 years, few more were found and removed and at my last check (few months ago) I'm good now to do another check for them in 5 years (yeah me! )

 

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 24°C and overcast. We had a bit of rain overnight, and today there is chance of a thunderstorm. I am tired of this hot, humid, sticky weather!

Good Friday morning all, and TGIF! This has been a very long short week! My work mate has the day off today, so it looks like I'm flying solo today at work. We had rain yesterday, and so there will be no watering today except for the pots and planters. It might be a very long day

 

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 18°C and overcast. Rain expected today, and I am looking forward to getting some inside work done. Also have some canning to do.
