Good morning all. Today we go to see our youngest grandson in a local theater production of Les Mis. Our daughter is one of the stage managers and she says it is going to be a great production. We loaned her our DVD of the 10th anniversary special of Les Mis that was on PBS a few years ago and the young man playing Jean ValJean does a really great job especially in the final notes of 'Bring Him Home' in the style of Colm Wilkinson.
This is the young man we will hear singing it today

And for those who have not heard it, this is Colm Wilkinson

Good Sunday morning all. Currently a cool, breezy 11°C, with sunshine. It's actually a very nice change!
I made some beet relish yesterday, first time I've ever done or eaten it. Its good! I think it would be great with some Oktoberfest sausage.
I'll be working on some fall fair projects today as it is only a week away.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. The play yesterday was fantastic, who would have thought a stage full of youngsters, the oldest is 17 with a singing voice that sounds like it came up from the depths of a well it is a beautiful bass. And the Jean ValJean nailed those high notes again.

Good Monday morning all. Currently just 11°C and clear. SO many stars are visible this morning!
Wearing pants and a sweatshirt, high of only 23°C expected today!
I'm on my own today ... my co-worker has the day off. Sometimes I like to work alone, I can get a lot done.
Have a great day all :)

Fourth book is now in process. It should appear on Amazon before long. It is called Tales from Feggy Wood. Still gives me a thrill to see my scribblings in print.

    Congratulations Palustris!!!!

Good morning all. I thought 75 degrees would be comfy enough to get out front for some clean up work.....never have a pecan tree close to your house or you will be sweeping up bits and picking up branches for the rest of your life.
But the humidity was also 75% with no breeze at all so it was a warm and drippy experience. But did get more done out there this morning than I have been able to do since late April. I will be sore tomorrow!!!

Lots of Gulf Fritillary butterflies flitting around the front garden this year, the Passionflower vines has been covered with cats all summer and the butterflies are swarming around now. Last year there was not one Fritillary butterfly in my yard!
Also early in the summer the Fennel (which stands about 6+ feet tall this year) had almost 20 Swallowtail cats on it, not sure where all those butterflies went but I have only seen a couple in the yard since then.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 17°C and clear. Had a visit from DD and her crew yesterday. We had dinner and tried to fly their new drone over the house for some garden photos but it ran out of power before any pictures were taken. We will try again later in the week. Off to work for some serious weeding today, have a great day all :)

It was gray and cloudy and a bit windy here today. It didn't quite make 70 degrees but it's supposed to be in the 80's but the end of the weekend coming and into the beginning of next week. It's about the middle of September and fall is coming up so the temps should be staying around the upper 60's and lower 70's soon. I wore a denim jacket today and it was a little chilly at times even with the jacket. I think I will sort through my closets and find fall clothes to get ready for the cooler weather. dooley

Good grief my morning is starting early!!! Randy has the first pre-surgery visit with the eye doctor at 8 this morning. Today they double check the cataract, measure his lens and tell us how much our insurance won't be paying.

Other than that it is just another very warm and muggy morning.

Toni, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Randy, and for your insurance to pony up. Please let us know how things are going for him.
It's muggy here, too. I was going to do some serious pruning and removing of tomato plants, but after a half-hour I gave up and came in to dry off.
Italian potato salad to make, and some correspondence to catch up on. Dull, but at least I'll stay dry!

Good Thursday morning all. Currently just 7°C and clear. It's been a busy few days, and today is no different. Work today, and then rush home to gather flowers and other things for entry into the fall fair. I am barely organized so it may take a while! Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Pretty much a repeat of the last 4 months weatherwise. Still hanging onto hot and dry around here. Next week will likely be back in the mid-upper 90's again and on the supposedly first day of Autumn we have 96 forecast. The dark mood caused by the hot and dry around here didn't hit me on the first of June like in past years but it is certainly raising it's ugly head this month. I am so tired of summer!!!!

Good Friday morning all. Currently 7°C and clear. There is a breeze that makes it feel COLD! I have the day off today, and I am heading to the fairgrounds to set up a booth for the skating club. Then I'll come home and clean for a few hours until I have to take my daughter back to march in the parade. It's fall fair weekend!
Have a great day all :)
