Hello everyone. It has been awhile since I posted. But I have been here every day reading all the news. Just not very news worthy myself.;) Sun is out at last. Redid one flower bed. Set the hosta plants aside to put somewhere else and in the meantime the deer ate them:( I forgot to move it close to the basement wall before night time. The security light there scares them away . Was excited to see two bluebirds in the yard this morning. I have never seen them around here before. Next year I plan to have a nesting box ready in case they should come back again. Working on the gardens this week trying to get them in. Have a great day all.

Hi Chrisle  Nice to see you here! I think you had another long, hard winter so I'm glad to hear you have been out in your gardens.
It just 10°C and raining again. I'm not sure how long it will rain, but hopefully I'll get the day in. I do have lots to do at home.
Have a great day all :)

Good afternoon. Been to town this morning to do a few errands. Picked up a bag of sheep manure and a couple of perennials. This afternoon I will help hubby drive new poles for the potato garden and put up the electric fencing again. We are over run with deer and couldn't have a garden unless we have everything surrounded by the electric fence. Three gardens, takes a lot of fence!
The sun has decided to come out but it is still very cool.
    Have a great day everyone.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 10°C and clear. We made it through a whole day without rain yesterday!! Today sounds like it will be dry too.
I'm having trouble with rabbits eating my one garden at work ... there must be a whole family of them out there and they are HUNGRY! I'll be caging a few plants and trying some bloodmeal to keep them away. Always something!
Have a great day all :)

Netty, sorry about those rabbits. I've found a good cat can keep rabbits out of gardens. If you like, I can send you a couple:)!
Today we took the day off and went to a wine tasting in a small town about an hour from here. My, those folks can make wine! We did the tasting, then stayed for lunch at their small cafe. Lunch was delicious and we came home with six bottles of special wines to have with special meals.

Good Friday morning all. Currently 10°C and clear. My alarm was going off for a whole minute before I heard it ... boy I was tired! Another busy work week about to come to an end, but a busy weekend about to start. So much to do! I look forward to sleeping in a little tomorrow, but weekday waking time is 4:30am so if I can make it until 6:30 I'll be happy. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. I am thinking that the world literally turned upside down recently....it is raining again here this morning. So far just .64 of an inch in the gauge but it is still coming down and this time there are puddles in the yard. I love puddles, Singing in the Rain comes to mind...I don't see myself as Gene Kelly but I do stomp in one or two puddles on the way to the rain gauge and back to the house. And I never use an umbrella when walking in the rain.

It was a beautiful day here and in the upper 80's. It may break into the 90's this weekend. Of course, there is a 80 percent chance of rain. I think that means we'll probably get rain. Our Farmer's Market starts tomorrow so of course we'll have rain. dooley

Dooley, I think we are sharing the same weather pattern! We've been blessed with rain and the weeds are loving it!
I pulled more garlic this morning, weeded more in the tomato patch, watched mamacat and the kittens roll around and playfully swat the cucumber leaves. Their play time may impact our cucumber harvest.:(
Husband is mowing--determined to get the front and barn lot done before it rains again.

Good Saturday afternoon all. Currently 29°C and sunny. I was at a new farmers market this morning in a nearby town. It was the opening week and there were about 12 vendors, with 3 more vendors coming next week. I bought a few things, including a new (to me) tomato called 'Mountain Merit' that I have already planted out in the garden. I'm always looking for the perfect tomato! Lots to do out in the garden today, but it is SO hot it may have to wait until this evening. Have a great day all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 22°C and sunny. It's going to be a very HOT few days!
I managed to get my new tomatoes planted, my herb pot planted and my plant area cleaned up. It was just too hot to do too much work in the gardens yesterday.
Had a surprise visit from my daughter and son in law and the pups, so I had a relaxing afternoon.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. The rain total in my garden for the month of June (so far) is a little over 4 inches and it has been wonderful. But the up and down temps have fooled the Sedum 'Autumn Joy' into blooming now instead of waiting until October....you know, Autumn .. as the name implies. But that means the heat of summer will not keep it from blooming this year as it has in some years.

Yesterday with our daughter out of town and our youngest grandson not yet driving we were called upon to take him to play rehearsal, pick him up 3 hours later and take him to a play that a friend was in then pick him up about 3 hours later to take him home. Sounds like a lot of fuss and bother but luckily we know all the really good shops close to those locations and were able to happily fill the time wandering through and choosing some interesting things from 2 Habitat for Humanity stores, 1 Goodwill store and two very large antique/junque stores so we all had a good day.

Good Monday morning all. Currently 21°C and cloudy. The mosquitos nearly carried me away on my dog walk this morning! a
Off to work for a day of dragging hoses in the extreme heat today. I am looking forward to coming home and jumping in the pool!
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 17°C and there's a storm brewing. I can hear thunder and the sky is getting dark. A little rain would be nice to water the gardens.
I have the day off today, for an appointment with my daughter. After that, it's an all day mall day! We both need some summer clothes.
Have a great day all :)
