Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -17°C and feeling -27°C with the wind chill. Snow yesterday, frigid temperatures today - Winter is really HERE!
Was supposed to go to the mall with a friend today for some Christmas shopping, but I'm not sure if we are still going. I wouldn't be sad if we didn't head out in this frigid weather!
We put up our Christmas tree yesterday, the earliest I've put it up! Now I really feel stressed out about Christmas shopping!
Have a great day all :)

Well, it is cold and snowing today. I got up at 5 to go shovel sidewalks for a condo development. I shovel their sidewalks and porches and the men plow out the driveways and the streets there. at 17°f it was a bit nippy but after 10 or so houses finished the blood is a pumping and the cold is tolerable. not so much so if you are just standing around.

It was mostly cloudy here this morning but still in the 20's. It started snowing about noon and it's been snowing and blowing all afternoon. We went out and had a sandwich and the roads were getting snow covered when we came home. We could get three to five inches so it said on the weather. We haven't had much snow yet and they said the temperatures wouldn't get above the 20's now so we should have a white Christmas. dooley

White Christmas....only if I buy several cases of shaving cream and cover the yard in it.:worried: 80 degrees on Monday, 50 on Tuesday and 70's today....50 - 74 for the next 10 days and probably thru the holidays.

Good Friday morning all. Currently -10°C and overcast. It feels a lot more comfortable out there today.
Laundry and housework day today, and perhaps some gift wrapping. I'm having so much trouble finding the perfect gifts this year!
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. This year our gift giving is "If it doesn't fit into one medium size gift bag for each of them, they are not getting it" We are still under threat of a government shutdown so money has been tight, they are supposed to make a decision and vote next week. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

Good Monday morning all. Currently -7°C and snowing. It was a very busy weekend, with a lot of skating.
Yesterday, my daughter and her team mates competed in a fun competition. Despite a glitch with their music, they managed to come home with a silver.
And my daughter also came home with an additional 2 silvers, despite coming down with something later in the day. She is home sick from school today.
I have a list to make of the last minute things to buy for gifts and baking. Have a great day all :)

Cleaning and hosting my family for Christmas tonight and then leaving for vacation on Wed... yippee! I have no chickens anymore to worry over and the children will be here to take care of the house and pets. seeds have been started though. I need to have a friend come check them daily while I am gone.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 1°C and overcast. Just a few more days and then the days will start getting a little longer again!
Off to do what I hope to be the FINAL Christmas shopping trip! All that will be left to do will be a grocery shop on Thursday.
Have a great day all :)

I'm not feeling well and I'm cranky. I think I should avoid all human contact today lol

Good morning all. Randy and I have been struck by allergies or head colds or just the curd. Getting better now, if the lessening number of kleenex in the trash is any indication.
We have finally been getting real rain, just like so many other people in the state who do not live in our area where it hasn't rained a decent amount in months. It started early Monday morning and literally did not stop until late last night. 48 hours of steady, continuous rain!!!! My rain gauge collected 2.66 inches and it is wonderful!!!!!

The government tax bill has a good chance of passing sometime today or tomorrow and then we can breathe again knowing the paychecks will continue coming in ... at least until some time late next Summer when the yammering over the budget starts up again for the next year.

Thankfully shopping is done here, I just bought gift bags and tissue paper so the wrapping is done too.
Randy's Mom really doesn't want a Christmas celebration this year, just too soon after losing her husband of almost 66 years so just he and I will go down there Saturday to visit....and give her a couple of things she has mentioned needing. Her DVD player died a few months ago and she has DVDs she would love to be watching to take her mind off things and her rain gauge broke last Spring.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -4°C and clear.
My daughter is off to school again today, after being home sick on Monday and Wednesday. I hope that is it for sickness in our house, especially before Christmas.
I'm off to do my regular errands and shopping, but today I get to drop off 2 winning raffle payments. A co-worker won $1000 and another friend won $75 in draws we had at the skating club last night. I sold the winning tickets :)
Have a great day all :)
