Good morning all. I have a great working internal alarm clock that wakes me up each morning at the time I tell myself I need to be up for gardening, traveling or whatever I know will be happening. Last night I told it that my gardening was done for at least the next 5 months except for watering everything 3 + times a week in the early morning.
So this morning I woke up at 9:42 a.m. instead of the usual 7:00 a.m. At least this year I know there are no plants in pots waiting to be put in ground and most of plans I made last winter have been accomplished, the ones that were not can wait until Autumn without fear of damage to living things....me being the top of the list of living things that could be damaged in the heat that is getting worse.

It was 89 degrees and very humid here today. I only have my Jade plant which is sitting in a south window. But, the air conditioner is in that window, too so I move it back away from the window because it doesn't like the cold air. I've been trying to figure out how I can put it in the west window but my sewing table is there and there is no room on it. I'll think of something or move something around to make some room for it away from the air conditioner.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 15°C and clear. SO many birds singing in the morning and I love awakening to the sound of them.
Another hot day and another busy day at work ahead. I'm not sure when this heat is supposed to break, but I do hope its SOON!
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. The heat here is beginning to remind me of the summer of 1980.
temps over 100 deg F 69 times that summer, 42 of them in a row. The all time high temp was 113 on three consecutive days, 29 days of temps that broke previous heat records. My area also had 29 days of record breaking heat, including 28 days of temps over 105 and 5 days above 110
Texas, high temperatures exceeded 100 °F (38 °C) a total of 69 times, including a record 42 consecutive days from June 23 to August 3.[4] Dallas/Fort Worth reached an all-time high when the temperature hit 113 °F (45 °C) on three consecutive days, from June 26 to 28. In all, the Dallas/Fort Worth area saw 29 days in which the previous record high temperature was either broken or tied. Dallas also had 28 days above 105, and five days above 110. Then the summer of 2011 surpassed all of that in several ways.
There was some hint on the evening news that this summer would give those other two a run for their money.
Oh, boy, I can hardly wait.

That doesnt sound like fun Toni. We've had a week of 30+ degrees (86+degrees F) and that is way too hot for me. I cant imagine 113!!
Good morning all, currently 16°C and breezy. It was a hot night sleeping in this house, but there is a nice breeze blowing in the windows. I'm off to work for another day of planting and dragging hoses around. I got rather sunburned on my legs yesterday, so I'm starting the day off with pants on. If I get too hot I'll change.
Looking forward to the weekend, and the chance of rain later today.
Have a great day all :)

Good Friday morning all, TGIF! Currently 14° and cloudy.
Yesterday's rain was a bust and we only received about 2 minutes of light rain. Hoping for some rain today, hopefully after about 2pm!
Another busy day and then the beginning of a busy weekend.
Have a great day all :)

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 11°C and overcast. This cool morning feels amazing after this weeks heat. I never did get any rain to speak of, just a few quick sprinkles.
I'm spending the day volunteering at the soccer fields today for the leagues picture day and BBQ.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Our front door knob stopped working this morning....after I went out front to feed the birds....like to have never gotten the blasted thing to work so I could get back in. Randy was still asleep and the cat was no help at all. He (Randy not the cat) is at Home Depot right now buying a new one. He sent me a photo to see if I wanted a fancier one....now upgrading the front door will probably have to be moved up higher on the "to do" list.

Forecast high for today is 102 with a feels like temp of about 5 degrees higher. Got to 101 yesterday in our yard but that is unofficial ... but you know being unofficial does not make it feel any better.

Gee, it might get to 69 degrees here today but it is very humid and cloudy. Scattered showers are possible and about an inch of rain is expected overnight. dooley

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 12°C and cloudy. There are (much needed) showers in the forecast for later today.
Busy day of laundry, vaccuuming, and housework. Hopefully I can squeeze some garden time in sometime today.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Only in the 90s today, I think we hit 102 yesterday though...but the 100s will return later next week.

Good Monday morning all. Currently 12°C and overcast with a brisk breeze from the west. Temperatures are going to fall today, and so I am dressed for work in pants and a sweatshirt.
Weird for June, but a nice change from last week. I hope to get the veggie garden planted today, and it looks like I wont have to water anything thanks to the rain last night.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning everyone. It is still raining here. I think it's been three weeks of rain every day and heavy rain and flooding the past week. My mulch was delivered on Saturday afternoon and it started raining about half an hour later! I'm fretting some over it because I am leaving town on Thursday, so another weekend will go by without spreading it, and the weeds are trying to take over! There is a little pepper on one of my plants, and lots of blossoms on the tomato, cucumber, strawberry and squash. Hope everyone enjoys the day today!

GOOD morning all. It rained very early this morning 1.13 inches, first rain in a month so everything was getting very parched. The sun has been relentless too, not a cloud in the sky that whole time so I was very surprise to be awakened by thunder!!!
We have a large opossum in the neighborhood, I saw him climbing one of our trees night before last, sure got Wizard's attention too. At some point it was climbing around in
my fenced area out front and knocked a table over sending two pots of rosemary to the ground, then it dug into the dirt to see what it could find to eat. Will have to tie the table to the fence and repot the plants.
I guess it's time to get a trap from the city, since that make at least three roaming around the neighborhood. Animal control will pick them up and set them free in a wooded area along the Trinity River not far from their office.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 9°C and windy. The high is only expected to reach 14°C today, and with the winds feeling colder. I was cold yesterday and so I am dressed warm today! Lots of planting left to do at work, and a cool day should help get it done.
Have a great day all :)
