Wonderful morning today! I watered the tomatoes and peppers, picked some cherry tomatoes and Romas and our first bell pepper! Of course I had "help" from Timi the cat but I didn't trip over her or step on her tail. Then while my husband cleaned up the weeds in the seasonal garden I cleaned the last of the onions and brought them in. Timi helped with that, too. The outer onion skins with the dirt on them I let the wind take, and Timi had fun chasing the skins.
While my husband was working in the seasonal garden, he picked two zucchini, one of which we are having with garlic, onion, basil and chopped tomatoes with our chicken breast tonight.
I love this time of year--although we try to get everything done outside by 10 a.m. before it gets too hot, we still enjoy our gardens' produce and having "help".

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 13°C and windy. We had a cold front come through here yesterday, which brought rain and thunderstorms and this cool wind. The poor little birds in the nest in the lilac tree must be hanging on for dear life!
I was exhausted yesterday and went to bed really early (7:30pm!) and so I am feeling more rested today. My alarm goes off at 4am so I had my 8 hours sleep.
Another busy day today, and then a clients garden to do after work. I will be tired again tonight!
Have a great day all :)

You need to move to Ontario Toni, where winter is cold and summer is cool too! :chuckle:
Good Saturday morning all. Currently 12°C and overcast.
Was out at 7am for my dog walk only to discover that some jerk smashed my mailbox with a baseball bat last night. You can always tell when school is out in the backroads of a tourist town :smt076
Off to a meeting for the skating club this morning, and then off to the greenhouse for a few things. Then home to do some housework before my daughter, son in law, and grandson come to visit. It will be a fun day :)

Morning all. Netty I think I would make a good reverse snowbird. Some people 'follow the sun and heat' I would be following the lack of sun and heat.
Got out to water this morning and melted before finishing the job but I did get everything watered. This heat hit so early this year that my tomatoes are really suffering and some of the plants I put in the ground in March and April are packing up to move to the great garden in the sky.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 20°C and sunny. It's only 8 am and we have a heat warning issued for later. Tomorrow will bring relief with thunderstorms and much needed rain.
I've been busy out in my compost heap. I've dug out 16 wheelbarrows full of beautiful compost so far, and have only done half the pile. I made myself a sifter that fits on top of my wheelbarrow and I sift as I dig, and its been working out amazing. I will continue to top dress in the veggie garden and flower gardens today until it gets too hot.
Have a great day all :)

Good MOnday morning all. Currently 21°C and muggy. Yesterday was stinking hot, and today will be too. We are waiting for relief today with a cold front, which means a thunderstorm.
We sure need rain, but I am worried about the hail and strong winds.
A day of dragging hoses ahead, seems kind of silly with rain coming later today. But I always say you cant count on the rain!
Have a great day all :)

If you water, it will surely rain. We had almost two inches of rain here last night. Loud thunder kept waking us up. More rain is expected this afternoon. We went out early this morning to the doctor's office lab for a blood draw and then we went to breakfast. Happy to be back home. It looks like a great sewing day. dooley

Morning all. No rain on my gardens, the large dark clouds rolled over and passed us by yesterday without so much as a "Howdy do ma'am"
Today is sunny warming up quickly. Besides laundry, I guess my day will involve a lot of knitting and a Midsomer Murders marathon.....or maybe NCIS.....or Numb3rs. Or Cosmos with Carl Sagan. I have a few months of summer to live through so all of the above will be viewed before Fall.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 11°C and clear. The heat wave broke yesterday with the passing of a cold front. I had hoped for a good, old fashioned thunderstorm with lots of rain, but that didn't happen. We got about 6 minutes of rain and that was it!
It might be a very long day at work today ... my assistant threw her back out yesterday!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed she had a speedy recovery!
Have a great day all :)

Good Friday morning all. Currently 11°C and clear.
Friday already! It's been a busy week and that made it pass quickly!
I'm on my own today ... my assistant has pulled her back out and won't be at work today.
I'm just putting on my 'Superwoman cape' and I'll be heading out in a few minutes.
On the plus side, my daughter is done school now and so I will have some help cleaning house. That should help!
Have a great day all :)

Watered front and back yesterday....also accidentally watered a kitten who was hiding in a plant. Pretty little bitty thing, orange tabby looked like about 6 months old. I felt so bad about scareing it, I put out food and water. I really should not start feeding the strays again. I did that a few years ago and ended up with a stinky, poopy backyard .... but it was mouse/rat free!!!

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 12°C and overcast. Today's chance of rain has gone down to slim and yesterdays rain was very little. Looks like I'll be watering today!
Managed to get the back gardens mostly weeded yesterday, and a bit weeded in the veggie garden. Harvested the garlic scapes too!
Today I hope to finish the compost pile, and weed out under the young trees.
Have a great day all :)
