Good Monday morning all. Currently -5°C with a wind chill of -9°C. We are waiting for a snow storm to start in the next few hours that should bring record breaking snow to our area.
I will be inside washing the bedding, cleaning, and cooking more pumpkin. I have already shopped and brought in firewood, so I won't have to go out in that weather!
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -9°C with a windchill of -17°C.
We got about 4 inches of snow yesterday, and it is starting to snow again. I was really surprised at how cold it was when I walked the dog this morning ... it's more like January weather!
It's hard to believe just 2 weeks ago I was outside in a t-shirt!
Day 2 of fall cleaning. Yesterday I did the bedroom and today I may start in the dining room. Of course that means cleaning the last of the onions, finding a place for all the squash, sorting empty canning jars ... getting all the 'stuff' put in their place. I foresee a canning day in my future!
Have a great day all :)

Brrrr! It's 27 degrees with a stiff north wind howling. We put the heat lamps on the hens last night, and left them on this morning. The cats showed up this morning for their breakfast, all warm and fuzzy. having spent the night (we suspect) in their insulated and padded bed shelter.
Baking today, and maybe making another vat of chili. Cold days like this I huddle by the ovens and the stove!

Yippee!!! finally some actual winter weather. Before the front it was 72 deg, this morning it is 21 degrees. Sun is out so the temp will rise  but since this just might be all the winter we get and more than we have gotten in quite a few years, I am happy. New plants look like they are really ticked off at the temp change but I got some vibes from them that they would not be defeated by a little cool weather.

I had put out fresh suet combo (chunked up suet blocks, crunchy peanut butter and smashed hard boiled eggs) for the birds and squirrels and saw a momma cat and her kitten eating it last night. Put out some cat food that Wizard does not care for, after word got out thru the 'cat' vine I had to refill the bowl twice last night and so far once this morning.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -21°C and sunny. It would be a beautiful day if it was FEBRUARY! This is definitely not November weather!!
It's only going to warm up to -5°C today, and so I will be spending the day inside again. I didn't get to the dining room cleanup yesterday, as I was busy cutting and cooking pumpkins, cooking, and was at the rink. I did manage to clear the dining room table of onions, pumpkins and garlic so I did get something done in there haha
    Lets see what today brings!
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Another morning starting out below 32 deg. Not really unheard of to have these temps down here in November but it has not happened very often nor recently. And after the miserably way too warm winters we have had, I am not complaining about a few cold days in November. After the constant winds we had the last few days, the Pecan trees and others are almost bare of leaves and I have extra mulch on the gardens.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -5°C and snowing. Again. At least it's a little warmer than yesterday.
I had plans of going to do some errands before I went to my snow tire appointment, but I think I will wait to do the errands. The roads haven't been plowed at all and it's slippery. My skating skills saved me from falling several times! Looks like its another day of indoor activities today.
Have a great day all :)

Netty, good idea to wait until the roads are less dangerous. We here would miss you terribly if you were stuck in a snowbank somewhere:crying:!
It's rainy here and overcast, which makes the mid-40s temperature feel colder. I baked cranberry pecan bread this morning, and did two loads of laundry. Now I'm trying to convince myself to do some house cleaning, rather than sit and read a book. The convincing is not working . . . .

30 degrees here today. Fall is giving way to winter. I am looking forward to when the temps drop and the bears hibernate so we can put up our bird feeders. I do so enjoy the birds!

I was sickish yesterday, didn't get much done. A bit better today. Hope to do a bit of the final yard work.
    Have a good day all!

Cayuga, I do hope you are feeling better. You seem to be a person who thinks a bit of fresh air and yard work is therapeutic--good for you!
I have pumpkin bread in the oven, and plan to do a bit of yard work myself later this morning when it warms up a bit. I just can't motivate myself to get outside much when it's chilly!

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -8°C and sunny.
I'm still not used to the fact that there is snow on the ground already ... so much I still want to do outside! Looks like Mother Nature is warming us back up above the freezing point this week so the snow should melt away. I have my snow tires on now, so the snow should stop haha
I think I'm going to take it easy around the house today, and just spend time with family. I've got the crock pot going so we are going to have a nice hearty meal later. Lazy Sunday.
Have a great day all :)

Good Monday morning all. Currently 0°C and snowing. I was not impressed to see snow falling this morning ... I have an appointment with the skate sharpener 45 minutes away! At least I won't be leaving until after rush hour, so I can drive slower and be careful. I wish Mother Nature hadn't missed Autumn!
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -1°C and overcast. We had more snow fall overnight oh yay
I have some baking to do today... there is a bunch of over ripe bananas on the counter that want to become banana bread. I also still have pumpkin so I'd best make some pumpkin bread too.
Have a great day all :)

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 0°C and overcast. It got as warm as 6°C yesterday, and so a lot of the snow has melted.
Rain in the forecast for later, and strong winds too.
I'm off to do my errands and shopping.
Have a great day all :)

It's 70 degrees at 8 a.m. I think winter is over! I picked up five pounds of pecans in the shell yesterday at the feed store, so I'm cracking and shelling pecans today. Call me crazy but I enjoy doing that! Yesterday was my day for bargains--sweet potatoes at 14 cents a pound, and $1 a pound pecans. I shall attempt my very first sweet potato pie (I've eaten it before but never made one.) Keep your fingers crossed for me, please!
