Good Thursday morning all. Currently -8°C and sunny. It looks like it's going to be a cold, but beautiful day!
I'm off to do errands and grocery shopping. I also need to pick up stocking stuffers and wrapping paper.
Going to be an expensive day!
Have a great day all :)

We listen to the Ft. Worth NPR radio station in the morning while having coffee. There is a "March of the Day" which I usually avoid since I don't particularly like marches. However, today's march was Highland Cathedral--love the pipes and drums. Occasionally Scotland the Brave is played, my other favorite march. Starting the day off with a good dose of Scotland is great!

I am a John Philip Sousa fan myself. When my Mom was about 3 or 4 years old, Sousa was in a parade in Chicago, she and her parents were in the crowd along the street. She was bouncing and clapping to the music while her dad was holding her and having a great time. Sousa saw her and came over to her, kissed her on the cheek and returned to his band.

Sunny and about 41 degrees this morning. No rain in my garden, many areas had rain off and on the last few days...some even reported a few snow flurries early one morning. At least the temp has been more like the late fall time of the year it is and not like mid-summer it has been for the last few years.

Good Friday morning all. Currently -2°C and sunny. It's a beautiful morning and so I made my dog walk an extra long one. Sargent enjoyed it very much, and lord knows I could use more exercise! A busy day today ... I have 8 t-shirts to make for the skating clubs Christmas gifts for the student volunteers, skating test day with my daughter, all my regular housework, plus my daughter starts with a competition team today! I should sleep well tonight!
Have a great day all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -8°C, overcast and windy. We had a mixed bag of snow, rain and hail yesterday until it finally turned into snow. It was the really wet and sticky kind, that had the power flickering on and off all night, and the snow that sticks to the satellite dish. My dog walk this morning was tricky as the slush froze overnight and made for very uneven and slippery footing. We put up our Christmas tree last night and so today we will wrap presents to put under it. One more shopping trip should finish everything off!
Have a great day all :)

Today is overcast and misty, with temps in the 50's. I fertilized the broccoli which is heading up nicely, and we may have fresh broccoli salad for Christmas dinner. I'm catching up on household chores--vacuuming, laundry, kitchen tidying--that I have neglected while doing the fun stuff--Christmas decorating!
Tonight I'll pull cookies and sweet breads out of the freezer to thaw for the veterinarian's goodie tray. Yes, I try to bribe our vet every chance I get since she is so good, so caring, and really likes our cats!

Good Monday morning all. Currently -8°C and sunny.
Had a lovely dog walk this morning, and then home to organize gifts and wrap a few more. I made a list of things I need to finish up this week, and today I am going out to buy 2 Coaches gifts for tonight - I completely forgot about that! Weather is going to turn against me on Tuesday night, so I need to try to finish up :)
    Have a great day all!

Good Friday morning all. Currently -18°C and sunny.
It's been a busy week, but Friday is finally here! I've been busy trying to get everything together for Christmas, which is sneaking up on us rather quickly.
Today will be a day of cleaning house, and maybe some baking.
Have a great day all :)

Today has been overcast but not too cold--right now it is 50 degrees. We had an exciting morning--flea/tick treatment for the three cats. It involves putting a small amount of medicine between their shoulder blades. That is the easy part. Convincing the cats that we aren't cruel people trying to ruin their day is the hard part!
Since there was no outside work to be done with three cats glaring at us, I baked Sally Lunn bread and husband took the tripod and camera out to take photos of the ducks on the pond.
Tonight will be Cajun red beans and rice for dinner, and a relaxing evening with a Christmas DVD. I hope you all enjoy your day and evening.

Good Thursday afternoon all! Currently 1°C and overcast.
Well it's all over, just like that! All the time, work, and money to make it a perfect Christmas for everyone and it passed so quickly!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their families. I will still be having a dinner on Sunday with my kids and grandkids.
Today, I'm putting up my feet.
Have a great day all :)

Happy post-Christmas! I do hope you all had a good holiday season, we sure did!
Today I'm dealing with the remains of the Christmas ham--making stock with the bone and trimmings, planning on sharing some of the nicer slices (I'm no great carver) with friends who go to family dinners and come home sans leftovers.
Lots of laundry to do with the table linens and really incredible aprons (did I mention I'm a messy cook?). And like Netty, I plan to do nothing all afternoon except put my feet up and relax.

Had a great time with the kids and grand kids yesterday but on the way home last night we started talking about running away from home next year like we did last year.

Good Friday morning all. Currently 7°C and rainy. All the snow has now packed down and has frozen into ice, and now with the rain on top it was a deadly dog walk this morning. I think my ice skating skills saved me from many falls! My daughter has me taking her to the rink today ... she hasn't skated since the 23rd and she really wants to go. I'm fine with that, I'll take a hot chocolate and watch.
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all, and happy last day of 2019! Currently -2°C and overcast. Snow is in the forecast for today.
I wont be doing too much today ... we wanted to go to the mall to exchange some clothes but now with the forecast of heavy snow and strong winds we have decided not to go. Weather man better not be wrong now that we have changed our plans!
Have a great day all, and talk to you in the new decade, 2020!
    :)

Good Wednesday morning all, and Happy New Year!
    Currently -2°C and overcast.
I had a nice, peaceful New Years Eve, saw midnight and fell right asleep. Woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed, and had the dog walked by 7:30. It was still kinda dark out.
Going to have a nice relaxing day today :)
