Mart, why didn't anyone tell me central Texas has a monsoon season? We have had rain, and more rain. I went out during a drizzle this morning and cut roses for a bouquet, but other than that, we've been sheltering inside from the damp!

Good Monday morning all. Currently 2°C and sunny.
Well, another week begins. I have actually been very busy cleaning the basement. With my son moving out, I'm looking at all the things he may need for his new digs and the rest is getting donated or thrown out. I'm being ruthless!
Today the weather is great, so I may take a break from the basement and do some work out in the yard.
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 1°C and sunny.
I got up early, I'm excited about the 5 yards of soil that is being delivered today! Nothing could make me happier today (well except for an end to this pandemic!)
After the soil is delivered, and am taking my lysol wipes and headed to the store for groceries. Then home to fill raised beds and topdress gardens!
Have a great day all :)

Good day all, had to get out in the gardens early this morning, summer temps are showing up here today and I had to get outside work done well before 10am if I am going to do anything outside. Tomorrow will be another day around 90 then a cool front moves through and I can get some clean up finished out back. Got a new shade garden created over the weekend and things are perking up nicely out there.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 5°C and raining. I moved 20 wheel barrows full of soil into my raised beds yesterday, which were already half full of composted manure. Mixed it together and I'm confident that I have a good mix that my veggies will love. I'm very excited about the veggie garden this year!
I had a good grocery shopping experience yesterday. I haven't been there shopping for 3 weeks and they've made some changes. Only 20 people allowed in the store at a time, and the floor is marked with arrows showing people which way to go to assure social distancing. Store was well stocked except for cleaning products - I was hoping for some Lysol wipes but there were none. Lots of toilet paper though! Anyway, made sure to wash, wash, wash my hands and hopefully I won't have to leave the house again for a few weeks.
Today, inside work to do, and a whole lot of tomato seedlings to transplant. Gives my shoulder a few days to recover from all that shoveling yesterday haha
Have a great day all :)

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -1°C and overcast. We got a thin layer of snow overnight and I'm not happy about it. At least it seems to be melting.
I have all the tomatoe seedlings to transplant today. When I went to set up the shelf they sit on, it turned into a cleaning mission. Now that everything is clean and the shelf has been put up, I am ready to transplant. It's going to be a messy job indoors!
Have a great day all :)

Picked up my wife's prescription at the doctors and then had to queue for half an hour outside the chemists to get it dispensed. No one complained, most people seem to accept social distancing.

    Good Friday morning all, literally!
Currently -1°C and very windy. There is some fresh snow on the ground again, but thankfully not too much.
I managed to get all the tomatoes potted up yesterday, and there were way more than I thought haha
My garden is going to have a very healthy dose of tomato plants this year!
Cold weather today is keeping chores to indoors today.
Have a great day all :)

It is a good day, Good Friday! We (he) tilled up a patch for the bell pepper starts to go into next week, I watered the newly planted bean rows, and we both cuddled the cats. With no rain and occasional sunshine, this is a good day for us to be outside and messing about in the gardens.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -1°C and overcast.
I spent a little time out in the garden yesterday, after the snow melted. I wanted to get the garden around the garage edged out and weeded so I could top dress it today. I ended up raking out the last of the gardens as well, so I am set up for a day of topdressing today.
Have a great day all :)

Is it Saturday already?? I love not having to keep up with what day it is but I think the family is getting tired of me asking 'what day is it?' The last of my Saturday morning TV gardening and Texas interest shows just ended so I need to get the backyard cleaned up.

Finished a Zoom meeting, fixed a couple of vegetable quiches for today’s meals and should get busy doing something. A nap is something ;)

26F last night, this morning. Hard on some plants already planted out. Will see how they survived shortly once the frost melts. Have more digging, dirt hauling and bamboo corralling to do today. The back terracing is coming along nicely. My muscles will need a little warm up this morning as I continue.

Good morning all, got down to 39 deg last night and my plants are shaking to their roots with a questioning, confused look on their pretty faces wondering what the blazes happened???
And all I can tell them is I am sorry but it will happen again for the next two nights and please do not forsake me oh my darling(s). (trivia here...who knows what movie score those last 7 words come from ? No prizes for the answer but if you know it without looking it up I would be amazed.
