Happy Saturday to all of you! We had 7/8" of rain last night, so no hauling buckets to the gardens. We have the house open with a nice breeze going and temps in the high 60's (unheard of in mid-June Texas!). This is shaping up to be a good day!

Good Monday morning all. Currently 11°C and clear. We had another pop up thunderstorm last night, and all the gardens are watered. Very thankful for that! The heat is going to be bad again today... feeling like 38°C. Hopefully it rained at work too, so that I don't have to spend my entire day watering again.
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 14°C and very very humid!
Thunderstorms are in the forecast today and that should cool it down.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. I wish the rain we have been having had a cooling affect...just creates a high humidity level making being outside a miserable idea.
But the past 3 days my gardens have received a total of approx 5 inches of rain....first rain of any kind since May 26 and not much even before then. Of course that rain was brought to us with really, really, really loud thunder booms each morning between midnight and 5 a.m. But what the heck, I will give up a little sleep time if it means finally getting rain.!!!!

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently just 10°C and overcast. We had more rain and then a thunderstorm in the middle of the night. I think it's safe to say all the plants are well watered. I found out the hard way, that my new back deck is slippery when wet. I went down HARD, took each step to the arms and back on the way down. I am black and blue all over!
Should be an interesting day at work today, when I can barely move without hurting myself haha
Have a great day all :)

Oh Netty, call in to work and explain what happened to you, then take the day off. We mixed sand in the paint/stain for our deck, and it is foot-friendly.
We had more rain last night and everything is soggy. If I don't get out to the cucumbers and squash, they are going to grow so big they'll approach the house and take over!

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 10°C and cloudy.
No days off for me ladies, I pushed through and made the day. But boy was I tired last night! haha
A good nights rest, and off to another day in the gardens at work. I also have a garden to help with after work so no rest for the weary.
I do have a rather impressive bruise on my butt and both lower arms ... might try a comfrey poultice later.
Have a great day all :)

Arnica gel would have been a great solution but it needs to be put on immediately to keep the bruise from forming and it does help with inflammation/pain afterwards but preventing the bruising is what is most helpful.

Good Friday morning all, and TGIF! What a week!
I look forward to 2:30pm when my weekend will officially start.
I have been watching the colors of the bruises change ... deep black and purple are todays colors.
    Have a great day :)

Netty, you can wear deep black and purple well, but please don't make a habit of it!
Happy Saturday to all! I had always wanted to visit the Sahara and perhaps ride a camel. Well, the Saharan desert is coming to central Texas today--very hazy, and those with respiratory problems are being urged to stay indoors. Does anyone have a camel for sale or rent?

Good Monday morning all. Currently 15°C and clear. This is day 2 of what looks like a 14+ day heat wave. There is no rain in sight either, so it looks like I'll be doing a lot of watering this week! My veggie garden is the first lucky garden ... its getting watered before I leave for work at 5:30.
Have a great day all :)

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 21°C and clear. It's going to be another hot one!
I had the day off yesterday, for Canada Day, and I got a lot of work done at home. Planted all the perennials I had sitting in pots, watered all the gardens, re-did part of a garden, pruned and weeded all 87 tomato plants, and got the garden shed cleaned out. Then it was too hot to do anything!
Back to work today, lots of watering to do!
Have a great day all :)

Off to work, another day of dragging hoses and following the shade around. Then home to do the same thing here.
At least at home I can jump in the pool if I get too hot!
Have a great day all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 24°C and clear. We are under a heat warning again today, and it looks like we will be all week. No rain in the forecast for the next while, unless we get a popup thunderstorm, so it looks like I'll be doing a lot of watering.
I've been out early trying to get things done in the gardens, mainly watering and weeding, but there is also a lot of deadheading to do as the peony plants are all done blooming now.
I have lots of housework to do today, so that's where I'll be during the heat of the day.
Have a great day all :)
