Sadly, I don't get to go to the weddings. I am the gardener at a resort so I get to make the grounds pretty before the weddings happen. I did get a glimpse of the bride getting photos done ... she looked beautiful!
Good Sunday morning all. Currently 19°C and overcast. It feels muggy today.
I've got the grandbabies coming over for a visit this morning so I need to go 'baby proof' my house. I haven't seen them for a few weeks so I am excited!
Have a great day all :)

Aww Netty, what age and how many grandbabies? Mine are all adults now. I have such fond memories of their baby and toddler days.

I have 2 grandsons, ages 1 and almost 3. They are a lot of fun!
Good Monday morning all. Currently 14°C and clear. Crickets are singing loudly outside this morning. Its going to be a warm day.
Off to work, not sure how much I'll have to water today ... looks like rain is on it's way! We need it!
That bowl of rice and soup up there ^^ is probably the cutest meal I've seen! haha
Have a great day all :)

    Way cute, Riley.
That one made me smile on this grey, cold and foggy day.

Cute, Doghouse. I'm just into plain brown rice, no bears allowed. :like:

Netty, that is such a perfect age for grands.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 11°C and a chance of rain today.
It's the last day of September today, so hard to believe this year is passing so quickly!
Just one more month and I'll have all the gardens cleaned up and my gardening season will be completely over for the year!
Off to work, have a great day all :)

Netty, although the season is passing quickly, we will be thankful the gardens are resting when snow falls. I have very little remaining to be
done. Mainly planting the garlic. This entire year seems to have flown past. As a child, I thought time dragged. Now that I'm older, it's like, "WHAT? 2021 already?"

Good Friday morning all. Currently 8°C and clear. The moon was full last night and it is very bright out there.
TGIF! Its been a long couple of weeks with a co-worker on holidays but hopefully this is the last day of chaos at work.
Have a great day all :)

Good Monday morning all. Currently 6°C and overcast.
Its the beginning of another busy week ... decorating week for thanksgiving weekend coming up, the beginning of fall cleanup in the gardens, a co-worker on holidays, and then throw in my daughters skating schedule, a heating oil delivery, a septic pump out, skating registration and regular household chores. And dont forget Sargent, who demands his walks ON TIME! haha
Have a great day all :)

Netty, I read your post and went back to bed, completely exhausted! I don't see how you do it all, but you do, and with grace and wit.
I re-potted house plant cuttings to take to the local nursing home tomorrow. These plants thrive on neglect and are ideal for elderly patients who may forget to water them. I have ten, and I'm sure all will find a home.
A chilly morning so I messed about in the kitchen for a bit until things warmed up. Then I cut rose bouquets to take to the above destination. Those patients who are bedridden like to see a bouquet (and my roses are scented and remind them of the old days when roses smelled!)

Its no secret that that Netty is used to hard graft...but so are you—-just look at the good you are doing for the elderly. I sure admire you.
BTW, what plant was that you took cuttings of?

Sjoerd, I have no idea what plant it is. A friend with a black thumb gave me the original cuttings, saying "you can't kill this" and she was right. I'll ask my husband to take a photo that I can post and someone may be able to identify it.
Shifting extra plants and flowers off on the elderly isn't doing good for the elderly--it's shifting off extra plants and flowers! I'm shameless . . . .

I admire the lot of you! Netty does more in a day than I do in a week.
Marlin, I bet the older Nursing Home residents love having a live plant and roses that smell sweet. I have a pale pink rose that has such a sweet scent. The first rose I was ever able to grow. A neighbor wanted rid of it, so I thought, why not, nothing ventured, nothing gained. It amazed me by living and growing.
Sjoerd, you're no slacker when it comes to being a busy bee and you share your produce!
Oh, I did something in the garden today! I planted garlic! More to be set out, but I have begun.
